One of My Favorite Games Ever

I loved this game from back in the Dreamcast days. It, along with my Dreamcast, are packed away in a storage unit, so when I found this on marketplace, I was beyond stoked. Everything looks and plays great. There are a few glitches here and there, but it plays the same as if I was playing my disc version.

I currently play this on my ASUS TF300 with keyboard dock using either a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 controller via USB (wish I could use my Dreamcast controller). All of the buttons work. While this isn't an option advertised, I wish there was a config option to map the buttons. As of right now, it's trial and error until you learn the locations. I also love being able to use my HDMI out to my TV (score!).

I played Jet Grind Radio on the Dreamcast back in the day, and the sequel, Jet Set Radio Future. I loved them both, and I was looking forward to seeing what the game was like on my Kindle Fire.

Sadly, it isn't very good. The graphics are gorgeous and the sound is great, with the same music you'll remember from the older version. But the controls, good lord. Those are just...bad. You use a little on-screen controller scheme, which is about the only way to do it, but it's so hard to control. When I play it, I find my thumbs tend to slip about on the screen a bit much. It's ok when basically going in a straight line, but if you need anything like precision, which you do in this game, it doesn't work well.

If you can cope with the control scheme, go for it. Otherwise, this just isn't worth even the few dollars it is currently priced at.

Sound issues, non user-friendly controls, inaccurate size description.

Well, the app size described on the product page is inaccurate... is listed as 574.8MB, but is actually 2gb.
also, there seems to be a LOT of sound playback [character voices, graffiti/skate sfx, etc] issues with the game, and the controls are inaccurate and difficult to use.

I ended up removing it from my kindle, mostly because of the size issue, control difficulties, and the sound effect playback problems.

I feel like i wasted my money on buying the android version of a long-time favorite game series of mine, and i think ill just stick to playing it on my xbox....

i had hoped to have a portable jet set radio, but i guess not.

I do love the game series, i always have, but the kindle version was quite a disappointment.

The style and creativity in your objectives and the way that the plot unfolds between stages reminds you that nothing in recent years is like Jet Set Radio.
