so I bought this battery. Yes the phone is bigger, the rubber skin doesn't fit it and it doesn't fit into my belt case anymore,
but damn it!! This battery never dies. I find myself using the phone to its fullest potential everyday, GPS, Bluetooth, WIFI, surfing the net, making and receiving calls, letting my son use it as a gameboy during long car rides, and at the end of the day, it's still half charged.
I can't overstate how much I use this phone on a daily bases.
It's nice to have a battery that allows the phone to keep up.
Enter the Seidio Innocell 2600. At first I was dubious because 3rd party accessories aren't always reliable. I had a week-long trip coming up, and definitely wanted to know my phone would be able to keep up, so I took a chance, and I was very glad I did. It arrived quickly, and was more than 50% charged on arrival. In a short time I had it fully charged and gave it a test run. I turned everything on: Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc. I had all my IM and social-networking apps running and was texting, listening to music and browsing the web. Surprisingly it kept going for over 6 hours, even with everything going. I gave it two full deplete/charge cycles and from there it just got better.
Initially I was concerned about the increased size with the new back-cover, but after using it, I find that it actually feels even better. I like the non-slip feel of the new cover, and the recessed opening for the camera actually keeps the lens cleaner and fingerprint free! I didn't buy this phone for looks, I bought it for power, and this battery gives it that. It's still pocketable, and feels solid. People who see this phone love it, and the size hasn't made anyone sneer or criticize. When they hear I get upward of 8 hours of soli use per charge then rethink their decision to buy that *other* smart phone that doesn't have a swappable battery.
My best testimonial is that I recently spent over 12 hours in delays in Tulsa and O'Hare airports.Read more ›
Well, this morning I powered on my phone and was distressed to see it was only at 32% charge. I trolled through my power profiler and watched the level drop before my eyes: 32 to 26. Thirty seconds later, it's at 24. This is with the A/C charger *plugged in*. If anyone out there knows what gives I'm all ears.
Rated 2 stars since I'm giving it an extra star on the off chance it's user error. But so far I give this battery a giant fail.
But for a tall guy with big hands, it feels MUCH better in my hands. When I switch back to the original battery/case it feels too thin. But that's a personal preference.
The battery, on the other hand, is exactly what I was hoping for. It lasts well over 24 hours with GPS and WiFi and CL and Bluetooth turned on, with higher-than-average usage (tested particularly with GPS). If you don't have any of those settings on, the battery life stays at 100% for about 4 hours before it moves at all (using an app to see more detailed battery status).
The case is just slightly less-than-perfect compared to the original case, but fits just right. The volume controls flush with the case, but are still easy to find and press in the dark.
Also, the case is very strong. I sanded the case down, spray painted it red, applied a logo, and applied several clear coats. It looks professional, and it was a breeze to modify.
The camera is recessed into the case, which actually provides a little bit of a "shade" for the lens, making it better at taking pictures in total sunlight.
The speaker holes are not flush to the phone, and you lose a little volume, but at least you can listen to hours and hours more music/video with the battery life. The phone has a much more noticeable vibration function now, which I like, but you might not.
So, yes, the case does make the phone bigger, but I like it that way and even if I didn't, it's worth it for the battery life when I need it to last all day with all the features, like using GPS and the camera when at a concert all day.

I used this extended life battery and cover on my HTC G1. It added about 4x battery life to my phone. Rather than running out of battery in 6 hours, it would last 26 hours. Read morePublished on June 20, 2013 by David
