After looking at all 5 face-up on my desk, it was easy to see that the Bulova and the Seiko were the easiest to read without my glasses. However, the key reason I chose the Seiko was it is noticeably smaller than all the other chronographs I examined. (11% less width and 50% less thickness than the Bulova.) It is a great looking watch and it feels and looks at home on my wrist. Also, Seiko has a long standing, great reputation.
Wonderful watch still! I haven't been very careful with it at all, banging my wrist on walls and doors, but the face of the crystal is still flawless. The metal housing has lost some of its luster, but only if you're holding it 6" away could you be able to tell; still shines like day 1 from 12" and beyond. All scratches and scuffs on the metal don't show up unless under VERY direct/bright light and, again, 6" away from your eyes. The ONLY complaint that has emerged thus far is the leather strap on the buckle side has developed a large crack across the band. I kind of figured the band would go after 24/7 wear for a year and a half, the great thing is the crack is on the underside of the band so it's imperceptible as of yet, and the crack closes when the band is contoured to my wrist. When the strap finally does go, I've already picked up a replacement from Crown & Buckle during one of their sales (probably higher quality). This is truly a buy it for life purchase!
This is my first "real" watch, since I stopped wearing watches all through college and have just recently graduated. I decided it was a fashionable and sleek piece of style that would add to my "look", and boy was I right in choosing this timepiece to serve that purpose. It's got both hard and soft edges in the perfectly correct lines/faces, and is very well complemented by assorted reflective decor on the face that adds just the right amount of flash; not sparkly like a female watch, but yet still draws the eye with their luminescence. Overall I would say this watch diameter is perfect for me; I have a 6.5in wrist and a 5'9" 150lb frame. Any bigger would look ridiculous on my wrist, and yet it's not too small so that it still pairs up well with the proportions of the rest of my body. Definitely satisfied with this purchase. I can't speak as to quality and timekeeping since I have only gone through unboxing and setup, but judging from the rest of the reviews and the trusty Seiko brand, I don't think it will be a problem.
Also, as a side note, do NOT buy anything from Jomashop. They have the most discourteous and unprofessional customer support ever. This watch was my first purchase from them, and was only done because I had a discount code that made it cheaper than Amazon. I would have gladly paid the extra money though for the Amazon treatment had I known. Sorry for the rant, but I think it is my civic duty to help society towards the notion, "by the small guy, and for the small guy".
Out of the box, the watch appears to suffer from an identity crisis. However, once I swapped out the original watch strap for a nylon nato strap, things just seemed to click and I really like the way it looks.
