I truly enjoyed Blue and Lizzie's story. Such an excellent addition to the Love in Bloom series. They're journey was emotional, with smoking chemistry, filled with love, family, friendship and sexy naked baking. I loved the last baking scene in the book...it was so HOT!
"Blue wasn’t just more handsome than any man alive, but he was also a gentleman and probably the world’s best kisser." Holy hyperbole, Batman!
The conflict about a woman called the Naked Baker, who actually shows less skin than a beach bunny, makes a mountain out of a mole hill. Having her 'sacrificing' herself to put her sister through university grew old fast as did the donating of flowers around town and racing to help the homeless to show that the character was a Cape Cod Mother Theresa was over the top. Apparently firefighters love to get flowers that are just about to expire.
The book could easily have been two hundred pages less if all the gnashing of teeth and references to the heroine's complicated life were omitted.
What I didn't like:
1. Lizzie does what she can to help her sister (and herself) and everyone treats her like she was an assassin (or worse, a prostitute). Her parents totally ditched her and her sister regarding their education, and then they act like she was a mess who should be disenherited because she did what she could to work? Riiiight. These parents are horrible.
2. I get that Blue has trust issues. Guess what, Blue? Lizzie didn't cause them. You had them before you met her, and would it have really been better if, on their first date, she'd told him about the Naked Baker? Really? Why would she? Lizzie was keeping her secret for herself, and the way he's judging her and how he reacts to the news, I just wanted to ask him who the hell did he think he was? I did not like him at all. And while I appreciate respectful characters, Blue was a stereotype of things that are too sweet. I read a review that said something along the lines of this story being like eating cotton candy all day long - I wholeheartedly agree.
I would not read this book again (I didn't finish it, actually), I deleted it as soon as I was done, and I'm staying away from MF for a while now.
Lizzie Barber is a florist by day and at night she is tucked away in her basement filming the Naked Baker. Not a single person knows about her webcast and her disguise is good, but when her father fell ill when she was in college and her parents weren't able to help any longer with tuition Lizzie did what she had to. She didn't realize that years later she would still be filming the Naked Baker to pay for her sister's tuition. Her time is stretched so thin she has no personal or social life. However, she has struggled for a year now to thwart the advances of Blue Ryder, especially now that he is remodeling her kitchen. But she can't allow herself to get close to anyone until Maddie graduates from college. It would destroy her strict, authoritarian parents if they found out about her secret.
Blue Ryder has had a thing for Lizzie ever since he first laid eyes on her a year ago. However, trying to get her to go out with him has been a challenge. She always claims to be too busy, yet he can't figure out how she can't find a little time unless she isn't interested. But he sees how she responds to him so he isn't willing to stop trying, however long it takes.
So how will Blue respond when he finally finds out Lizzie's secret? Their relationship will face challenges that neither can imagine. Will their love survive them?
My reason for 4 stars is that the book got a little unnecessarily long in the middle with Lizzie constantly changing her mind about coming clean with her secret.

Lizzie Barber has had a mixed life, raised by conservative parents, she finds herself in a position where, in order to stay in college & forge the future she has dreamed about, she has to find a way to earn money. Launching a webcast called 'The Naked Baker' she very quickly turns the venture into a money maker, not only paying off her college debts, but more than enough to help her start her own legitimate business as a florist & is currently paying her sisters way through college too. The problem is is she feels dirty, she feels ashamed. Guilt eats away at her & the whole process is so time consuming she has put her social life on hold until Maddy is finished college & she can finally stop the seedy recordings. How could a man love her knowing what she does, how would Blue Ryder even look at her once he found out her ugly truth. Nope, she cant risk it so she does the only thing she can - she keeps turning him down, even though she knows deep in heart he is the one.
Blue Ryder. Damn these Ryder brothers are smokin & so needless to say Blue is just divine. Not only is he utterly delicious, but he has a pure heart of gold. Since meeting Lizzie 1 year ago, he hasn't been able to shake off the want he feels towards her & refuses to stop asking her out on dates. Yes he has had his heart broken, but he 100% believes that sweet little Lizzie wouldn't betray him, wouldn't break his heart any further - would she??
I really loved the quirkiness to this book & felt for Lizzie as she tried to juggle all sides of her life, hoping that none of them would collide. At times I wanted to shake sense into her because of her stubborn attitude & at others I wanted to smack Blue on the back of his head for being a fool. I loved their dynamics & couldn't wait to see how their HEA played out.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the Ryder's stories - Including feisty Trish - the only sister amongst all them hawties.
We first met Blue as Sky's best friend in an earlier book, but now we see him up close and personal...
And I would gladly have him up close...
He's been asking Lizzie to go on a date with him for the last year and she keeps turning him down...
Until now, she's stuck to her guns and refused him.. But she's tired of fighting him, only she has a secret that she can't share.. Their journey is up and down, it will have you on the edge of your seat and you will want to scream..
Melissa has a way of pulling you in, and making you love them both..
The way she writes, has you feeling like these people are part of your family and you will do anything for them!!
Blue is a man after my own heart, he is loyal, loving, caring and madly in love with Lizzie.
Lizzie loves Blue but holds back and he does not understand why and when the reason comes to light it's a case of can there love overcome anything?
Addison has done it again, I can't seem to stop reading her books and I don't ever want to. I cannot wait for the next book, it's heavily anticipated.
Another 5* read!!!
Blue oh my Blue, all he wants is Lizzie and will do anything to get her, but can Blue accept Lizzie after secrets come to light.
Melissa wraps you up In a swoon worthy bubble were taking chances and believing in yourself and others shine through, the chemistry between the characters sizzle and the story flows with ease.
Blue is in love and has been for a while but Lizzie just keeps saying no until she finally says yes and that's when she fall for blue
Good read, very tender and very funny
Would totally recommend her books to anyone.
