This book is written in first person present tense with alternating chapters - One chapter Carrie, the next Blake. I just wish I had understood that "Part 1" meant that it was going to end right in the middle of the story. I guess I just assumed that Part 2 would be a sequel rather than the rest of the story. And of course, the subsequent "parts" are not Amazon freebies.

but I couldn't even finish it. While I get that the author is trying to be badass, all I'm getting from this book is prejudice and anger. And not from the people in the book. It's great to have an opinion, but no need to beat it into the ground.
Way too much self-reflection on how cool the main guy thinks he is. And the stuff he spouts out ... "I just offered her my jacket, it's not like I chained her to the stove and told her to cook my breakfast bitch!" Is that funny? Ironic?
Whatever it is, it's not for me.

I guess I want authors to write a book that is so interesting that I'll want to run out and buy the next book. Wanting to find out how a story ends just seems like a cheap shot at trying to get you to buy the next book. I don't like stories that keep you hanging and this is one of them. The story is compelling enough to keep you interested without all the sexual content that takes up needless space in the book. A sequel is fine but at least bring Part 1 to closure. I'm sure JC Coulton is bright enough to come up with a completely new story line. The plot was great, leave out half the sexual content and stay with the suspense theme as that was fascinating.

I was surprised to find this high quality from a new indie author. Glad I took the risk and picked up the series. What a steamy and suspenseful ride! Great read.

The premise for this story is interesting, however, there are times where the story drags on, and other times when important parts are glossed over. It's missing tension between the main characters...and it's incomplete. This is not a standalone story. I don't even feel the need to buy the next part (even with the cliffhanger). Just feel let down.

Carrie & April went on a ladies’ night out to loose themselves and forget the tense life they’re having. But April’s demeanor changed when she checked on her phone and saw her text. Soon Carrie found themselves outside and everything changes right there and then. April life was at stake and it’s up to Carrie to save her.

Blake Anderson, on the other hand, was doing everything he can to stop and arrest Jessup Lee who’s been terrorizing, kidnapping and trafficking women in the country. A new case of abduction involving his niece came upon Blake’s door and now he’s on to the case.

Now I think Blake may be the sexiest detective alive, thanks to JC Coulton’s wildly imaginative description and steamy scenes. Him and Carrie rekindle an old history and their chemistry was palpable. Plus, the heart-stopping action and cliffhanger ending that Carrie & Blake was on to, really had me excited for the next book!

Cop Thiller is all I have to say..HOT..

April just lost both her parents by a car accident. April and Carrie decided to get away. So they leave Cedar Rapids, Iowa to go to New York City to get away because April Uncle Jessup Lee owns a few Club there and Carrie thought it would be nice place to go.
Carrie and April are living the night out free drinks and all the dancing any girls could need. Until April mood changes and she wants to leave. Carrie has no clue why as they are waiting for a cab their’s life changes forever..

What will happen to April and Carrie?

Blake is the Detective working on case where three boys’ bodies were found died and he believe it was organized by Lee Mob. Needed a moment to himself after looking at the evidence because it not leading anywhere he step away to work out. He get a call that he need to return to the Police Station because there is a victim he needs to see.

Can Blake help?

Will he make the right choice to help?

I can not wait until book 2..Must read…

Could not stop reading. JC Coulton's work reminds me of James Patterson meets Melody Anne. A suspenseful full, novel-length romantic suspense.
