About the Author
A gifted writer and artist, Quan Williams wrote his first book at the age of ten for a fifth grade assignment, which he followed up in the sixth grade with a serialized science-fiction story for a writing class, along with a monthly comic book and a comic strip for his school newspaper. One of his fondest memories as a writer came from the first comic book he ever read, a Neal Adams-drawn issue of Batman that he had found ripped up on his way home from school. He collected all of the pages he could find, took them home and meticulously put them all back in order. He believes that was when he was first exposed to some of the principles of good storytelling. He also lists his second grade teacher reading J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" to his class as a powerful influence, also. He self-published a superhero comic book in high school before attending the University of Michigan to major in Graphic Design. While there, he spent two years as an urban entertainment reviewer for the Michigan Daily newspaper. He took creative writing courses under the tutelage of novelists Jonis Agee (Strange Angels, South of Resurrection, Sweet Eyes) and Tish O'Dowd (Floaters). He also wrote, illustrated and self-published numerous comic books. Since graduating, Quan has co-founded two briefly successful companies (Phalanx International and Eternal Tempest Games), and currently runs Expectus Songwriting and Music Production alongside his father, along with Bahamut Ali, a company devoted to developing and marketing all of his intellectual properties (including this book). He has written the young adult novel "The Leopard Man," and the inspirational romance "Double Entry". He also writes, illustrates and publishes the online comic strip www.TheSeizureComic.com. In addition, he published the short stories "The Scrying Pool," "The Golem" and "That Weird Kid". More information on him and his work is available at his website, www.quannage.webs.com
