My application for using this power supply wasn't exactly what it was designed for but it seems to work just fine for it. I can't be sure of the output current capacity but the current rating seems to be about right. I'm trying to power a motor with this thing. The motor draws about 3 amps when running at full speed. This power supply has an over-current protection circuit which prevents the motor from starting (electric motors draw lots more current when they start). It's not a problem for me, though, because I have a motor speed control in between the power supply and the motor. As long as I start the motor with the speed control turned down, and don't turn the speed control up too fast, the motor works well.
I believe that if this power supply was used to power things like LEDs or other electronics, it would work fine up to its stated current rating. I measured the output voltage at 12.1 volts

I ordered this transformer to replace a different one that only lasted 10 months. This transformer had a relatively high star rating and good reviews, so for under nine bucks I took a chance. The transformer arrived July 12, 2016 and was put into service right away. As of this morning, December 12, 2016, the transformer is completely dead. For those of you following along playing the home version, that's exactly 5 months. Fun fact: for the approximately 1790 hours it was used, this transformer cost me a little more than a half-cent per hour, not including the cost of electricity. This transformer ran pretty hot to the touch and made tons of radio frequency interference (electronic noise). Time to find another, and hopefully one that will last at least a whole year. You should learn from my mistake and avoid this one.

I use this to power an LED light for my pool. I wasn't sure if it was powerful enough - it's a 50' run using 12 gauge wire but it still lit the light perfectly. Most 12 volt power supply's don't always deliver a reliable and constant 12 volt output. Even my Lenovo power supply has fluctuations of voltage. Being 6 AMPs, it will deliver reliable power.

This is NOT a 6 Amp Power Supply - It Will Only Continuously Deliver 1.5 amps!!!
