To be honest, I can't say I didn't enjoy reading most of the book. Cristina had many encounters with Selena and became friends with her, which gives her the opportunity to share the many anecdotes and entertaining stories about the singer. Cristina was amongst the very few who got to see Selena in her casket at the family and friends private viewing of the body.
I personally enjoy reading about the way Selena was off stage and how she treated people. This book has a lot of that. Cristina clearly felt like she was special to Selena and that doesn't come as a surprise because Selena had the amazing quality of making everyone she met feel like they had been long-time friends. She made people feel comfortable and unguarded. This was a special gift that came naturally to her, which is why she was so loved. Her friendliness felt authentic to her closest friends and to her public.
Aside from the moments they shared, I didn't care for the super-natural part of the book. To be honest, this intrigued me; just like anything having to do with an after-life does. However, when the psychic medium made contact with "Selena" and started reciting messages for her family and even Yolanda, it simply didn't click with me. It didn't "sound" like her, if you will. Nothing new about "what happened in room 158" was revealed.Read more ›
