I like her writing style, it's an easy and quick read, and while she breaks down the harsh realities and how to deal with them emotionally, she encourages you. It's exactly what I've been searching for! I wanted to know how to go about making my career happen despite all the challenges and knowing that there is so much information out there that contradicts itself was making me crazy. This is now my go-to guide.
It's great for new and veteran actors who want to take their career to the next tier. She addresses issues that you run into early on and also when you've become successful.
*Added note - I've become a member of Bonnie's facebook group and read her column. The greatness doesn't stop with this book! It's a lifestyle/mind/attitude change for sure, but Bonnie everywhere if you just look for one moment. You'll find her and she'll openly support you if you are truly making the effort.
But the really amazing, unheard of, benefit of SMFA is what comes after you read it...entry into one of the most supportive, welcoming and generous communities I've ever encountered, and that's because of the example that Bonnie, herself, set with her book and continues to set with her countless online contributions. She tells the truth, guides, inspires, teaches. SMFA is quite possibly one of the best investments you can make in your career.
What a great gift for an actor! What a complete and comprehensive "how-to." GET this book!!
