There isn't an organized fashion or a step-by-step list of what to do. There isn't a direct action plan or an idea of where to start.
Imagine a boring book about, say, the history of insurance salesmen and how riveting that might be and you'll get an idea of what this book is like. It'll give you a headache or make you want to blow your brains out by about page 6.
I'll be asking for a refund on this one, it sucks that bad. (And I was so tempted to NOT get this book because the lone 5-star review was so vague that it sounded like he paid for it or a friend who never read the book put the review up for him. I should have listened to my intuition.)
I found an awesome book that covers what I needed to know and you may want to consider getting it. It's called One Simple Idea for Startups and Entrepreneurs: Live Your Dreams and Create Your Own Profitable Company. It's by Stephen Key who is an absolute expert at creating products and bringing them to market in both small and big retail stores/chains. If that's what you're looking at doing by using distributors, Stephen covers everything you need to know including information about trade shows. Another recommended book is called Mommy Millionaire: How I Turned My Kitchen Table Idea into a Million Dollars and How You Can, Too!. And if you're interested in using QVC or the Home Shopping Network to distribute your product or invention, look into getting Make Millions Selling on QVC: Insider Secrets to Launching Your Product on Television & Transforming Your Business (and Life) Forever. All good books. I've read them all so I should know.
Just avoid this sucky book because you'll get nothing out of it and you'll end up being confused more than ever about how to use distributors. I hope this helps you.
