Alex and Hunter are still going strong and still trying to recover from Hunters gunshot would and moving on from the previous life or death situation they was in. Alex has applied to the FBI but is waiting for confirmation if he is to get in or not and Hunter is trying to figure out to do until he knows where they will be before he looks for another job at the hospital where ever they end up.
It seems as if trouble follows these to because they find themselves in dangerous situations no matter whether at home while working at a bar or on vacation in a foreign country. It is like they are magnets and trouble or those that in trouble are drawn to them. But regardless of the situation, even with their own insecurities they stick together and come out stronger then they was before. Their love is strong and it seems not even the threat of death will keep them apart. That is true love that is for sure.
Even though this book is partly about unfinished business from book one it was primarily about a totally different dangerous situation. I think that the unfinished business revolves around Nick. I think that whether neither Hunter nor Alex will admit it, I think both might have some unfinished with him. And I am hoping their will be a book three that revolve around it. In a way I hope that the three of them will end up together. But hey that is just me.
Regardless of my thoughts on the next book in this series, this book was an awesome read with so much excitement and mystery. Not to mention love.

Currently there are two books in the Heart and Haven series, and I strongly recommend reading both of them in the correct reading order. These two books have the same MC's and characters and storylines from Book 1 do continue into Book 2. Seriously, I know I always say it, but you really, really, really need read these in the correct order!
Send Lawyers, Guns and Roses - Heart and Haven Book 2 by Heloise West
This book starts soon after the last one ended. Hunter is recovering from what happened previously, and Alex/Shawn is working and putting his life back together. and considering becoming a FBI agent. When Alex's mother comes to visit for his birthday, they give him and Hunter a vacation to a tiny Caribbean island that his family has a history with. Hunter and Alex go and plan their days of alcohol, sex, sun and the beach but if you read the first book, you know nothing is as easy as it should be. Hunter and Alex are enjoying their time together, but they're pulled into other people's crazy stuff and soon find themselves fighting for their lives during a tropical storm.
I struggled with this book. I enjoyed seeing Hunter and Alex trying to get their life back in order and dealing with everything that had happened. I was happy that they were able to get some rest and relaxation together. The story of Alex's childhood friend, the childhood friend's boyfriend and the boyfriend's sister was unexpected (for lack of a better word). I just didn't understand the purpose, unless this is the lead-up to Alex's career in the FBI and to always have Hunter and Alex stumble into crimes and have to fight for their lives.
The second half of this book was very action packed, like the first book. It had a mystery, multiple bad guys, and the heroes coming out the winners. I really enjoyed seeing Hunter and Alex together, and see their relationship and love for each other.
Rating: 3.5 stars
This was a great story that kept you on your toes the entire time!
So this was my second book by Heloise West and I really cannot wait to read more (I hear my bad boy Nick Is getting a story *smiles*) Anyhow, if you have not read book one in is series, Hitting Black Ice then I need you to turn around and go get that book first because I do think you need to read this series, in order. That's not a bad thing either - trust me, Black Ice is going to keep you on your toes and make you appreciate your quiet life. Now, on to this book, Send Lawyers, Guns, and Roses is so full of action that you are going to find yourself racing to keep up! Hunter and Alex are beginning to get their lives together, Alex is waiting to see if he is accepted to Quantico and Hunter is just trying to recuperate and live his life with Alex by his side. When the chance to head to the Caribbean pops up - they accept and off they go to the island of Saba, to spend time with an old family friend of Alex's mom and catch up with a childhood friend, Orfeo. What is meant to be a trip of catching up, relaxation and healing turns into a wild island crime drama, in the middle of a hurricane!
Everything starts out well. Alex and Hunter enjoy the island life, singing karaoke while they imbibe on island rum, swim, drink more rum, lay on the beaches, drink some more rum, have wild monkey sex, drink some more rum, catch up with Orfeo at which point Alex mentions he is waiting for his acceptance to Quantico, why did everyone freak out when Alex mentions that?
Even with all the rum flowing through his veins Alex feels that something is not right - he doesn't really get a chance to investigate it though because the island is shifted into hurricane mode.
...and oh, there is a body in the surf! Now with a hurricane hours away, a killer on the loose, and strange behaviors from his friend - Alex just wants to make it through the storm with Hunter in one piece and then call in the cavalry. It doesn't take long to figure out who the murder victim is, a private detective, but who hired him?
The mysteries just keep piling up in this story. Alex and Hunter decide if you can't solve it, then you might as well enjoy yourselves during the storm, and boy do they ever!! Will everyone come out on the other side of the hurricane in one piece and while Alex and Hunter are on the island will they turn their vacation into an impromptu honeymoon? Only one way to find out.. Time for you to read this book and get in on the action!
I really enjoyed this story and book one in the series. This authors writing style is very imaginative yet plausible and the characters are well thought out with depth and emotion! I really cannot wait until the next book, where I think we will see Alex at Quantico and hopefully get to see my Bad boy Nick!
Great book! 4.5 stars rounding up to 5!!
P.S. ~ I googled the song! It's real! (You will see after you read the book)
