Eight gay erotica stories with various levels of explicitness and entirely different scenarios

Each story was like a scene in a longer narrative. They are not technically, in my mind, cliffhangers, but could be considered a piece of a bigger story, all ended with a minimum of an HFN. It was a very interesting compilation. The blurb describes each story so I won’t do that here but the author has warnings which you may want to heed.
If you like short gay stories with different levels of explicitness and extraordinary breadth of plots, try this anthology. I volunteered to review an ARC of the book through Gay Romance Reviews.

Some hits, others nothing special🤔

Three or almost half of the stories suited my interests and I liked at the 4 🌟 star level so I rounded my rating up. The others were just okay. Inside Looking Out, voyeurism prompted by a pandemic forced isolation; The End of the Line, two strangers encountering on the London transit system; and Send Me One Back, about two young men trysting when their families holiday together in Tenerife, were the standouts for me.

This variety pack is truly eclectic, with several menage stories (including one historical); a novice to the gay club scene; a shy guy getting therapeutic intervention; an inductee to a religious cult with a difference😉; and a winter adventure on the slopes of Scotland, in addition to my three favorites. Each of the eight offerings can be read in 30 minutes or so. Note this is all male, no females in the mix.

I liked the idea of a sampler such as this. If a story misses for me, I can just move on and find something better suited to my tastes. But, in this case, I did finish reading the whole book before reviewing it.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I expected more from the blurb but that could be just me. I read all eight stories and all are totally different than the other. Each of these stories I consider a very short read. They range from current to historical. The only characters I really got attached to were the ones in the very last story. The End of the Line and Satori did not give me any thing memorable.
Of Camaraderie and Corruption at the end had a surprise that made it enjoyable.
Inside Looking Out I feel is like the old Hitchcock story that has been done too many times.
The Price of Admission had a few twists that kept my attention.
Meeting Isaac had a few things going on. I was surprised that Luis was in a committed relationship. I feel the story didn’t end just left questions where it went from there.
Devotions I feel like I missed something there.
Then there was Send Me One Back. Again, I feel like it just stopped with plenty of questions left open. I enjoyed the characters. I had to laugh at these two guys and the education they had on vacation. They both sounded so young and learning. It was also part of Elis trying to be one up or one better. The book is okay if you are looking for some really short stories to read.

I usually don't bother reading short stories in general because it usually leaves me unsatisfied and wondering what could happen next, only for it to end. But occasionally I do fine a book of shorts that I really enjoyed and Lou Skelton has written one of those..plus there's a promise of a future book featuring one of my favorite stories and the conclusion to their family holiday vacation. I hope Lou gets busy and writes many more books in the near future! I'll be looking for them! Enjoy!

What a delicious surprise 😉 this was a hella spicy collection of naughty little tales that left me wanting more 🔥 each could be considered a tad cliffy...that's my only complaint, I wish these were longer and more in depth...but, the spice level totally made up for it.

I don’t quite know what to think about these. These stories left me wanting a little bit more. I can’t really decide if I like it or not and it has nothing to do with the erotic part of it so don’t make any comments about me being a prude. Please. I have read books way more steamy and erotic than these. I don’t feel like the stories were 100% complete. I felt a bit like some of these guys got taken advantage of a bit, especially the guy in the price of admission. Of Camaraderie and Corruption felt a bit sleazy because the servant was not exactly allowed to consent to anything. He didn’t object in the end but it felt a little non consensual to me and that is a hard “No” for me. You may not have that problem but I guess I have read too many historical books and servants are often abused or not asked what they actually want and can get taken advantage of. I liked the story about Isaac though and the one set during isolation in the pandemic. Both of those have some potential. I guess I just felt like these tales all needed a few more words or something to make them feel complete. I don’t like things left undone. Overall, these aren’t bad stories but I probably won’t read them again or look for follow ups. It let me down too much.

There were a few I was upset that ended, definite four star reads. But, the remaining were three stars at minimum, but there was no connection to keep my interest. If you’re looking for an easy, short read with various mm romances, I would definitely recommend this one.

There are eight separate stories in this collection, and each offers different tropes and foci. There’s plenty of heat, imaginative scenarios, and vignette style looks into the characters’ lives and experiences, with plenty of satisfying HFNs. I liked the range of tones and genres, and would absolutely read more from this author in the future.

I will preface by saying that there are some really good stories in this collection, my personal favourites being The End of the Line and The Price of Admission. However, a lot I just didn't vibe with and not because they weren't good, but because they were not at all what I was expecting.

Never judge a book by its cover is the issue here I guess. From the silly front cover and blurb promising "humour and heart at the centre of every story" accompanied by a list of tropes, I was expecting just that. Some fun, tropey, smutty stories. The smut is there, but some of the stories weren't really fun at all. They were good stories, but some even left me feeling a little maudlin.

I've really enjoyed works by this author before and I think she is an excellent writer, I was just unable to give this more stars because it didn't deliver on expectations, which is more a marketing issue than an issue with the stories themselves but it did hinder my enjoyment.

I’ve learnt how to stop myself from indulging in cakes and sweets when looking for a treat after a bad day or feeling low. This short story collection is just the thing for a delicious GUILT-FREE pick me up: the stories are SO GOOD!

Skelton writes beautifully, nothing to cringe at here unlike other m/m/romance writers I’ve tried in the past. Intelligent writing for intelligent readers that doesn’t disappoint on that all important smut (the smut is quite excellent).

Great value for eight different stories that offer a wide range of subjects and ideas, is it corny to say ‘something for everyone’? Well, there really is XD

Very much recommend this collection.
