So , I've owned these now for a while. They're still awesome. The microphone works great. I've only had one complaint about my fan blowing across the mic, which apparently sounded like I was standing outside in a storm. They seemed to have stretched out ever so slightly, so they still sit tight on my head without hurting my ears. I'm able to wear them for hours on end, and enjoy music and take calls. The volume control/mute switch thing can be a bit annoying at times, but it's totally manageable. I'd buy these again in a second.

I've used these almost every work day since I bought them, and only retired them 6 months ago because I bought a bluetooth headset. Honestly, I might go back to these since I'm not very happy with the audio quality of my new bluetooth headset. They still work great. The only "problem" is that the volume control pot has gone a bit scratchy. Being a long-time musician, that's a problem I'm very familiar with and really don't consider it a big problem. If these were bluetooth, they'd be absolutely perfect for phone use.
The headphones feature a volume and mic-mute toggle switch on the cord. The volume control is crisp and accurate, but after about 5-6 years, became a bit less so. Small volume knob adjustments no longer adjusted the volume in the same way. But the feature is extremely useful, and found myself using it far more often than my keyboard's volume adjustment wheel. The earpads are made of a plush material wrapped in mesh and are extremely comfortable.
I just received my replacement pair, and the headphones haven't changed at all! Same incredible quality. I almost want to buy a lifetime supply in case Sennheiser retires them.
A few things to note:
1. My girlfriend has a smaller head than I do, and said that these sit a bit too loose for her. The headphones are highly adjustable, and I think this is more of a personal preference than a hard fact. I think everyone should try these, and not be dissuaded by claims of their catering to larger heads.
2. At first, the ear pads may feel a bit stiff. In comparing my 8-year-old pair to my new pair, the new pair is considerably stiffer, but this is something that you will eventually break in. My old pair are extremely comfortable, and I'd find myself putting them on even if I wasn't planning to use them!
3. This pair comes with two 1/8th inch connections, so your computer will need a separate microphone and headphone jack. I find this to be a huge bonus when I use my laptop, because I can remove the headphone plug when I want to play sound from my laptop speakers instantly. But make sure you have separate jacks for headphones and microphones, or you will have to choose between using one over the other.

I've used them for listening to music, internet gaming & Skype. All in all, I have no complaints and would recommend this product to others.
The included cable is generously long, but I constantly had a problem with the placement of the in-line volume control, which I found would constantly and unrelentingly get caught between my chair seat and arm rest. You know when you are listening to your mp3 player and your headphones get caught on something and get ripped out of your ear, making way for a completely illogical, but somehow necessary fit of rage? This headset has admittedly induced that same wrath more times than I would like to admit.
Finally, when it comes to the durability of this headset, things fall a bit short. Nowadays, the headset will only play sounds out of both sides if the cord is set just right in the in-line volume control and I have to manipulate the mic position so much to get it to even half-work, that I might as well call it broken.
All-in-all, was a decent headset for the price, but might have chosen differently knowing what I know now.
