- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2016For the price, these headphones are superb! A small drawback is the volume slider as I find myself constantly checking it to make sure it's at max. I've never been a fan of hardware audio controls. But that doesn't detriment from the quality of these headphones as it never moves without me wanting it to.
The noise cancellation is pretty nice, but the fit is a little different than the CX 300-II. I have to put it in my ear at a specific angle to have it fully fit. The CX 300-II fit in any angle to achieve the same closure.
The quality is superb and I love wearing them to coffee shops or where ever I'm doing work.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2012While not the best earbuds money can buy, these are lovely earbuds for the $40 range. I've bought two pairs for myself.
Build:
The first lasted a year and three months and the second pair lasted a year and a half of daily use and abuse. I was not particularly careful with these earbuds (shoved them in a pocket of my bag and left plugged in, or falling asleep with them in) and had I cared for them better, I'm sure they would have lasted at least two full years.
Comfort:
The tips for the earbuds stay on well and fit my ears wonderfully. (I used the medium sized double flange tip, the the wide variety of tip that come with up the chances of finding a pair of tips that suit your needs.) I could easily wear these earbuds for three or four hours, but eventually they caused a little pressure which became uncomfortable with very extended listening.
Sound:
While these will not completely blow you away, the sound quality is definitely in line with the price, and was a great value when I bought my first pair for $27. They are immeasurably better than the horrible things that come with iPods, and have better balance than even the Apple in-ear headphones which go for $70. They have reasonable bass and good balance and can take a good amount of volume before you notice any sound distortion.
Overall:
For me personally, these are not my go-to acoustic heaven headphones, but they are nice sturdy things which are at a price point that I'm not afraid to abuse them. They have good sound and build quality for their price point, and I highly suggest them for someone looking for under $50 earbuds.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2016Pros: Probably the best set of earbuds for the price. Good Bass as well. Ive used this brand for years now.
Cons: The Left earbud will lose signal after a two years or so. This will happen with most headsets as the wiring gets frayed. It tends to happen quicker with this brand since I wear it when im walking or running and it gets scrapped around.
Another con: the packaging it comes in is stupid hard to open. If Osama bin laden was hiding behind this packaging, he would still be alive today. :/
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2015A waste of money. I have admired and owned many models of Sennheiser cans and my last earbuds before this were the CX-300s, which had flaws but fell into the "get what you paid for" category. For this pair I decided to step up and pay extra for a pair of CX-400IIs. The results were extremely disappointing. While the sound quality is just fine, you have to sit perfectly still and not let ANYTHING touch the cables. The microphic noise (that "stethoscope" sound you hear when you jostle the cable of a pair of cheap ear buds) is just completely out of control on these... way worse than on my CX-300s. Microphonic interference is caused by the quality of material used to cover the cables. Thickness and material selection are both factors that impact the degree to which mechanical vibrations can be transmitted up the cable and amplified by the ear bud speakers. But for the CX-400II Sennheiser has apparently opted for the worst of all possible combinations in designing and making these cables. The consequence is just horrendous. Yes I know that if I loop the cable over my earlobes, my earlobe can have the effect of dampening the vibrations slightly. But if I have a small ear lobe and wear glasses, so it is not like I have a lot of room to be wrapping headphone cables around by earlobe every time I listen to music (people with well endowed ears may experience different results). I do notice that the microphic effect gets progressively worse as vibrations occur further up the cable. Vibrations occurring on the cable between the plug and the volume control get dampened by the volume control itself and only a mild nuisance.Between the volume control and the left-ear/right-ear Y splitter the effect becomes much worse. But it only becomes absolutely unacceptable and intolerable on the individual cables from the Y-split to the ear bud itself. In any event, I intend to continue my search for a better pair of ear buds to replace my CX-300s. I will not be settling for the CX-400II.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2010Bought these over a year ago to wear while working as a remodeling contractor rather than my expensive Etymotic Research ER4P. They don't miss a beat! Excellent seal via the various size tips supplied. Shirt clip to keep the works from slipping off. And stronger bass than the good phones. The cord is a little long but the in-line plug has saved them from being ripped apart when the cord catches on some protrusion. Sound is quite satisfactory for both the books I listen to as well as the wide gamut of music I love.
What more can one want? Oh yeah a very decent price. Good value for the money!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2024These headphones have about 30% of the volume of all my other non-wireless headphones, and are not properly balanced (one side is much louder than the other). I expected much more from Sennheiser after spending $36 for them. After just one month of infrequent use, they are worse than the pair they were meant to replace.

Używam tych słuchawek podłączonych do iPhone przez USB DAC FIIO K11, żeby słuchać streamingu i zapisanych plików Hi-Res audio. Jakość odsłuchu absolutnie akceptowalna, lepiej niż typowe słuchawki BT a nie trzeba ze sobą nosić dużych słuchawek nausznych i ich pudełka :-)

Andrea FabbriReviewed in Italy on November 22, 20245.0 out of 5 stars Ottime da sempre
Compro da anni queste cuffie e non mi hanno mai deluso; sinceramente le preferisco anche alle cuffie bluetooth sempre della Sennheiser.
Suono limpido e ottima presenza dei bassi.
Una garanzia.
