    great sound. very comfortable but...
I've been a fan of Sennheiser for about ~15yrs. I love their in-ear earbuds and I really felt like I got great audiophile quality sound at a respectable slightly elevated price. So when it came time to replace my gaming headset. I wanted to go a bit higher end.At about the 1yr mark (September 2021) the foam pads started to come apart (pictured). It took about 10 days to get replacement from EPOS(Sennheiser's rebranding of their gaming line). Which included emails, photos of defective product, serial number of headset etc... In November 2021 the other ear pad did the same thing. Replaced it from the previous warranty request and ordered a set since I was okay with this being a consumable replacement part for the headphones. $28/pair at the time. Also, it is a real pain to put the new ones on. There is a video of some guy demonstrating how to do it. i almost ripped the new ones getting them on.In January 2022 the cable got a short in it. instead of dealing with the warranty and going through all the motions again (because why would they keep your info on file). I just ordered a replacement cable and cancelled my warranty request. My time during those 10days was worth more than the $20 to just get the replacement. Now June 2022. Almost 2yrs the plastic holding the head strap has now broken off on one side (pictured). Which is currently being held together with superglue that I have had to reapply twice so far.Are the headphones worth the new lower price (half the price of what I paid at the time of this writing) eh.. maybe? I was fairly careful with them. They probably fell from the desk to the carpet three or four times? Never threw them. I never felt like I was hard on them but I did use them almost all day (I work from home). Which is another reason I wanted a high-quality pair of headphones. I wanted 3.5mm wired because I wanted to use the SB AE-7 32bit DAC, and not the USB or external DAC the others come with.

The TLDR is that I changed to these from GAME ZERO (Razer gear before that) and the GSP 600 coupled with GSX 1000 is literally pinpoint accuracy in games, and it's a notable improvement. It's heavier, but if you set it up correctly it's very comfortable, and the noise reduction is great. The only real downside is the price. Don't forget to manually turn on the 7.1 from your computer's sound control.

      Accuracy
It's incredible, in games like fortnite I can tell where airdrops are from inside a building, or when someone sees me and tries to go around to get the drop on me I know exactly where they are. During a game of OW I could tell the location and direction of Hanzo's ult, and avoid it before I could see it. It's literally become my strongest tool in every FPS I play.

      Comfort
I've tried a lot of headsets, and sennheiser is almost always the mot comfortable. This headset is heavier with the metal joints that add to it's durability, but it's still quite comfortable after you get it setup. Just make sure use the top contact adjuster for adjusting the strap on the top of your head (too low is too much pressure which causes fatigue, too high means it's not touching which makes the ear cups overwork.) It's not hot or sweaty, you can use this for hours without getting that annoying/painful feeling on your head some headsets cause. Just make sure you get the head strap setup correctly after adjusting the ears to the right length.

      Mic
I've had people in Discord and now Twitch chat tell me my mic is incredible. A better story and an extreme difference in price/product, my buddy had a cheap 7.1 headset, and it was annoying to listen to. It could get almost painfully loud or too quiet and I wasn't the only one complaining, I was just the only one hearing it all the time. I convinced him to switch and my god it's so smooth on my ears. Ironically he doesn't sound anywhere near as whiny either. I've never met him in person but it's changed my mental image of him.

      Noise Cancelling
It's incredibly well done. My wife has to tap me on the shoulder instead of yelling from downstairs. they're coming out with an open headset for about 30 dollars less in a few weeks, so it's very much personal preference. If you need to block out background noise you wont find better than these. If you need to hear what's going on around you then you'll want to wait for the 500s.

      7.1 in games and out
It's really well done. It's a bit hard to describe the difference but when you use something like the GSX 100 to turn it on and off it's a stark contrast. You basically go from an immersive in the game/video experience to feeling like your watching TV. I've gravitated towards watching my shows on the computer instead of on the large Samsung in the other room.
***YOU DO have to set it up manually, right click your audio device and once you select the headset the lower left corner has a configure buttons, select 7.1 and make sure everything is checked off. The instructions don't mention this, but if you need a walkthrough instruction for other headsets by Sennheiser or even the GSX 100 will get you there.

      Sounds quality
I'm not going to get technical but it's phenomenal, this is what Sennheiser is known for. The bass is deep and the sound is so rich and smooth, you wont go back.

The ear cups can indeed come off (per the instructions) though it's a bit of work. The mic seems short but it hasn't effected how people hear me other than I never hear myself breathing in it.

For people using these plugging into a standard computer sound board, the accuracy of where sounds are coming from will be lower. A lot of games now enable a good deal of sound accuracy without a 7.1 emulator. If the GSX is too pricy with this headset but you want more accuracy from a particular game you'll want to look into either a bitter sound board (which can also be pricey) or a dolby 7.1 emulator chip that this headset can plug into that would then plug into a USB port.

A headset like this *might* be considered overkill for just a console (though it works with both). The mic and quality of sound will still be there however so it depends on your situation.

Starting off, these headphones are kinda small. I don't see how so many people claim they are so big. They also claim they are "Average". I didn't know average size was below 5 feet.... I am 5'10 with a large head. Some people also claim it hurts their head. Seems to me they don't know how to adjust fitment.

So. I get the package, I open it. I pull them out, and start to try to find the right fit. I adjust each side one by one to get the cups over my ears. STOPPING THERE would be a mistake, as at that point the top band is too tight on the head. I then go one more click on each side. This makes the top band merely REST on my head, as apposed to forcing down upon it. I wore these headphones today for the first time for over 4 hours while gaming, watching movies, and listening to music to test them out. My head DID NOT get hot like people claim (nor my ears). They were very comfy. The weight isn't a big deal. They are only like 50-80 grams heavier than my Beyerdynamic DT990 premiums (600 ohm version).

In terms of audio quality, I am kinda of spoiled as my sound card is modified with new capacitors and custom soldered burr brown opamps. That mixed with these headphones, makes for a damn nice combo. Compared to the DT990 premiums, the sennheiser being closed back headphones, have better bass and even punchier mid bass. Compared to sennheiser 598's, these surpass the 598's in quality AND comfort. Granted, the 598's are open back just like the dt990's. Comparing once again to sennheiser hd700's, these have better bass as they are closed back compared to the 700's open back, but the 700's top end is much softer and nicer, where as the gsp 600 have kind of a harsh top end. To me, this is easily remedied by bumping up the bass just a little bit at 32hz and 60hz. Comparing AGAIN to akai profession 50x headphones (which are closed back like these) the akai have better bass but the top end is severely lacking the the highs seem like they are missing, while the gsp 600 are slightly harsh. All in all for the price, you are definitely getting quality. Anyone complaining they sound bad, are either using a cheap sound card or worse, on-board from a cheap motherboard.

In terms of microphone quality, the only comparison i can make is VS the mod mic 5. In terms of how well the microphones pick up sound, the gsp 600 microphone seems to definitely pick up sound a lot easier, which means when using technology to mute background noises, it works more efficiently. Using my sound card for noise reduction, it works perfectly and makes me sound crystal clear, where as doing the same on the mod mic required me to also use acoustic echo cancellation.... these don't need it! So far on discord, they have noticed i sound a lot clearer, as well as picking up more of the low end of my voice, where the mod mic seemed to lack the bass-y-ness of my voice. So all in all a nice clear mic so people can hear me clearly and correctly.

All in all I give this headset a 5/5. I was looking for a headset for gaming, as I have been constantly using studio grade headphones with the mod mic 5.... the studio headphones ive owned are mostly open back, meaning everyone can hear what i hear, and i can hear whats going on in the room. With these I can focus on the game more.

Some people noted that when they use the mic, they find themselves talking louder because they cannot hear themselves due to the sound isolation, me personally i only notice this issue if there is dead silence. if there is any kind of sound going through the headset, i don't even notice that i can't hear myself because usually when you are listening to a game's sounds, you don't anyway! Any issues people have are personally on them. The point of this headset is to use the earcups for the main force to hold them on your head. As I said, I have a large head, I don't have to adjust the "special" adjusters on the top as they are already tight. Changing that top two bands results in the ear cups pressing onto my head even harder than needed. A smaller head person would probably do a click or two, and a child three or four setting.

I would recommend these for gaming, music, and movies, with a proper sound card. Sennheiser recommends that you buy their 1000 or 1200 external dac, to properly drive the headphones in terms of "quality", not so much that they are "hard to drive" as even a cell phone can drive these headphones.

I would LOVE for sennheiser to make a super crazy pair, using the same mic, but having the quality of their elite tier (hd600 or better), maybe lighter weight (not a big deal but many seem to complain) and maybe include a shorter cable. My sound card has an external volume control that i plug all my headphones/mics into, which sits less than 3 feet from me. A super short headphone cable would suit me well.....

I got these along with the EPOS (Sennheiser) 302 and the Astro A40 TR (no amp) to compare side by side on an XBOX One X console. Overall, these headphones are amazing and would recommend to anyone who is looking to game on a console. Here are some points:

      EPOS (Sennheiser) GSP 600
      Pros:
      - flip to mute mic
      - volume adjustment knob feels sturdy and well built
      - comfortable on head
      - cable is braided and has a short connection to controller
      - comes with a longer PC cable
      - very balanced lows, mids, and highs

      Cons
      - can't swivel cups
      - medium clamping force compared to the other headsets

      EPOS (Sennheiser) GSP 300
      Pros
      - flip to mute mic
      - volume adjustment knob
      - comfortable on head
      - very light clamping force compared to the other headsets

      Cons
      - can't swivel cups
      - cable is too long for a gaming controller and can get twisted easily (i.e. not braided)
      - sound is "tiny" and lacks any real bass (and I am not a basshead)

      Astro A40 TR (no amp)
      Pros
      - balanced mids and highs
      - inline mute
      - very light clamping force
      - mic is flexible and flips up

      Cons
      - no inline volume adjustment or on the headset itself
      - bass is boosted and overpowers other ranges of sound
      - uncomfortably heavy

Comparably, the EPOS GSP 602 are a better headset in this price range. I know it might not be fair to compare the EPOS GSP 302, but honestly, at this price range the hardware is more or less the same, so I was hoping to not notice a difference. I probably wouldn't have noticed a difference, but since I did a side by side comparison, it was obvious that the 602's sound is far superior to the 302's. The Astro A40s are just hyped up in my opinion and are not worth the money given that there is no external volume control. If you're willing to spend more money to get the amp for the Astro A40s, they should be worth it, but from a gaming perspective where volume might change from time to time, it is a showstopper for me not to have a handy volume knob.

Los medios están poco presentes y los agudos no son nítidos. De todas formas en general tiene la calidad mas o menos prevista para su precio.
