Technical Details

Product Description

Whether you have tap water or well water, the likelihood that your water contains, at the very least, trace amounts of potentially harmful metals certainly exists since most wells use metal casing to carry water to the surface and municipal (city/tap) water travels though many miles of metal pipe before it reaches your home or office. Detection levels: <10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 400, and 1000 ppb (µg/L). Each bottle contains 50 Tests Detects: Cadmium, Cobalt, Cupric Copper, Ferrous Iron, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Zinc and other metals with a +2 state valence shell. SenSafeTM Water Metals Check for water quality testing detects a wide range of metals and gives an accurate assessment of your water's overall metal content. While the product will not tell you specifically which metals or how many different metals a water sample contains, if SenSafeTM Water Metals Check detects any metals at all we suggest you consider having your water tested by a qualified local water testing laboratory. No MSDS Required Worried about dangerous test reagents? This patented test serves as a very attractive alternative to wet chemical Iodine tests for several reasons: It does not require a meter, the test takes less than a minute, the product uses a non-carcinogenic indicator, and the test procedure requires no chemicals. This test provides semi-quantitative results, meaning if it detects more than one metal in a sample, the value reported represents the sum of all the concentrations detected.

It does "rate concentration levels" but there is only one window of data, and you have no idea what actual contaminate is showing up on your test. Good if you want to know if something is in water. Bad if you want to know WHAT youre actually testing positive for.

this really needs to include aluminum, I thought it did when I bought it. My tap water was off the chart when I first tested with this. YIKES. But I still have no idea whats in there, just that I shouldn't drink it and thats why we were all sick. :( Got a filter since then and put it on the sink, all symptoms went away! amazing >.<

Meh... mostly because I guess my water is ok heavy metal-wise, which is good. I should be more excited/happy I guess, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I would have given 5 stars but the test strip color didn't really match the "change" color chart on the side of the bottle. I had to dip one strip in distilled water as a control to check the color change. It kind of changed a little color and I guess I'm ok, but now maybe I am gonna have it lab tested. The strips do indeed change to dark purple if you have really bad heavy metal. I lightly rubbed one on a piece of copper to test that it will indeed detect the copper. I wish they would list all the metals it detects... but... if your test strip definitely changes color, get your water lab tested to find out what the metal is.

it has not specific indication on what heavy metal. Its good for general perspective but not accurate at all.

It gives you a chart to compare strips. No explanation of what readings mean.
