The flavors in the pack are fantastic. The pods are sometime hard to find or over-priced, so buying these packs on Amazon is also very convenient.
If you don't use them that often, be sure to stick open bags in a ziploc bag & freeze them. The grounds stay fresher much longer.
We have the Bunn MC My Cafe, which we're really happy with - it brews a good cup of coffee, and brews it quickly, which is nice! BUNN MC My Cafe Home Pod Brewer Coupling the new single serve brewers with the coffee pods has been a really nice thing to come along for busy people who enjoy one cup of coffee in the morning, or an occasional cup through the day.
All in all, from what I've read, I'll stick with the Senseo variety pks unless we find a particular brew we like more than any others. It's nice to have a change of pace, and it's not too expensive the way we drink coffee - one cup in the A.M.
The Kona blend didn't smell good when I first opened the package. You know how fresh coffee is supposed to smell. This wasn't even close: thin, acidic, and even kinda rancid. And that pretty much describes the brewed coffee. Bad.
I poured it out and tried the dark roast that came with my new machine. It was better than the Kona, but not even close to what I would have expected, based on the stellar reviews here. It kind of reminded me of coffee that had been sitting on a burner a little too long.
Next I tried the Columbian, which is generally my favorite when I buy whole-bean coffee. I was brewing into a mug, by the way, so I was using double pods for all these trials. The Columbian smelled good when I opened the package--the way FRESH coffee is supposed to smell. The coffee was light-years better than the first two kinds, but the best coffee on the planet? Not really.
The Sumatran blend smelled okay, too. Not hit-you-in-the-face amazing, but pretty good. The coffee was also okay--not as fresh-tasting as the Columbian, but still better than the Kona blend.
I'll admit I haven't tried the Kenyan variety yet, since it's usually not my favorite, so I can't comment on it. Besides, I'm PLENTY caffeinated at this point! The bottom line is, the Columbian and the Sumatran were worth the convenience of the Senseo machine, but they definitely don't stand up against freshly-ground beans brewed in a drip coffee pot or French press.Read more ›
sure a true coffee drinker will appreciate the flavor as well as the freshness and convenience of pods in their sealed pouches. I recommend them to all coffee connoisseurs and those who appreciate fine coffee.
That said, the coffee is very good as long as you are OK with a limited selection of flavors.
Now for Amazon... My choices for delivery of the product are 4 bags of coffee every month (or two), 6 every month (or two), etc. I run out of coffee every three weeks but I have yet to figure out how to change my order to reflect my usage. Consequently, I have to make my own homemade filter pod for a week or so. Pretty irritating.
There is an apparent solution - get online before I run out and change my delivery date. Well, it's not quite that simple. When you change the order ship date, it seems to take it out of the regular shipping pattern and takes longer to deliver. At least that is my experience.
My recommendation to Amazon is to free up the order system to allow shipment of the product on any number of days, i.e. 4 bags of pods every 19 days. I can't do this now. How hard can this be???

No complaints with these four blends, each had its own character. Brewed using Hamilton Beach single-cup machine. (3/19/12)Published on March 19, 2012 by Marc T.
