I used this unit in a mudroom that had two light switches; one on each end of the room that controlled the same light.
I used the instruction set that spoke to having two (2) controls; not the single-pole instruction set.
I had/have 2 black wires coming out of the wall, which doesn't help as I'm no electrician and not good with home wiring.
Don't forget to turn off the electricity to the room at your breaker box.
Read the instructions carefully, more than once, and follow instructions! :) I didn't. LOL
I connected one black wall wire to the unit black wire and the other black wall wire to the unit red and black wires. And, green to ground, of course. The unit comes with 1 green, 1 red, and 2 black. (So, to reiterate, I had one red and one black wire ON THE SWITCH connected to ONE of the black wires coming from the wall. That's right. Three wires were connected on one of the orange caps. I didn't know which black wire was which, but nothing bad happened when I had them initially reversed. In fact, I had the wires in several different configurations before getting it right with power on (not paying close enough attention) and nothing ever popped or sparked.)
As it turns out, I had black wires backward initially, so I turned off the breaker and switched the black wires only and turned the power on again and it worked.
I used a small screwdriver to set dials to: test, high sensitivity, and OCC, which equates to full left, full right, and full right on unit's dials reading from left to right.
