Not only is this book an outstanding source for learning to diagram sentences, but equally impressive and easy to understand is the grammar tutorial that preceeds every unit. This is the single best grammar book I have ever used and will continue to use as a guide and source. Diagramming sentences should be reinserted into every school's curriculum as a way of learning grammar; it promotes active learning, is fun, hands-on, and very effective. Take my word for it, if you enjoy grammar, or have a need to learn it or brush up on your skills, this is the book.

Excellent book. Clear and concise. Starts with the parts of speech, and moves on from there into advanced diagramming. Instructive exercises following each new concept, with answers in the back. Only errors I've found were extremely minor and not at all related to the real content of the book. Authors did a great job. Well done.

...sentence diagramming is an excellent way of reinforcing fundamental grammar concepts such as subject/object relations and modifier (e.g. adjectives, adverbs) functions; and more esoteric concepts such as infinitives...this book does a really nice job of presenting the method...starting with the simplest sentence and progressing to quite complex sentences, the authors describe the underlying principles, the techniques used to diagram, and also provide examples...this is followed by a set of exercises and answers are provided...very concise presntation with a clean layout...a tad expensive but probably worth it in the long run.

As a 50 year old I was a little reluctant to purchase this book. I must have slept through all lessons on diagraming sentences because I didn't have a clue. I've gone through the book once and will go through it again but it has been a God send. Did I mention I am a writer. Great, simple, easy to follow, instruction; I loved this book.

I knew nothing of sentence diagramming but needed to learn how to do so for my linguistics course. This book not only guided me through sentence diagramming in a perfectly paced process but also gave me a much deeper understanding of grammar in general. It takes a while to work through the book but it is the best resource for sentence diagramming that I have found (and I shopped around).

If this product worked for me--a twenty-four year-old sentence diagramming virgin--it will work for you, your child, your student, etc.

HIGHLY recommended.
