Clint is a rough guy who has his own set of issues. When he moves in with the Amons family he makes some changes that are hard for him at first. Clint starts to learn a of new things and sees he does have options. This is a christian romance filled with learning of forgiveness, learning to come unto Christ and learning to love. I loved seeing how people can change. This story was a good reminder to not be quick to judge and that deep down everyone has good in them! I am wondering if Ms. Cantrell is going to write Bud's story. Bud is Clint's best friend. I felt like she set it up nicely. I would love to read it if you write it Ms. Cantrell.
I have to say I loved Mrs. Jones. I think everyone needs a Mrs. Jones in their lives. A lovely romance that inspires! I will be on the hunt for more from Ms. Cantrell.
The one thing I did find that was the time frame was not always consistent. Rachel and Clint would at different times reference an event as weeks ago when it was months ago.
FYI~ this contains one swear word and reference to sex with no details

"The Sentence" by Elaine Cantrell was one of the most amazing novels that was simply a excellent read! The characters were simply off the chart good!
For six months Clint was prisoner in the ministers home, instead of 6 months in jail, due to the fact that he had been accused of setting fire to their church. Clint was there to help rebuild the church with the help of the other church members. I did like the way this author was able to deliver to the reader truly the thoughts of the people...many were upset the the judges decision and you could see how they could feel this way however, there were a few people who showed love in the heart to forgive and I believe that was really what this novel was about...'forgiving'....and that is what happened in "The Sentence." Now, Clint is there working and even turning his life around..What else will change for Clint? This is the part where I say you must read "The Sentence" to find out because there will be a few surprises.
I found "The Sentence" very inspirational for me and if you are in for a nice sweet romance then this novel would be recommend for you.
If you enjoy sweet, inspirational love stories, you're going to love, "The Sentence"
CLint learns he has choices while living with Rachel and her family. He has issues to work out and realizes life it not always easy and you do have other options.
The author does a great job at telling a christian love story with a lesson behind it. We all should think before we judge.
