If you are using Windows 7, make sure you choose the DIGITAL OUTPUT for the device instead of the "SPEAKERS" option. This removed all of the static I was having immediately and have not had any at all.
If you have the problem on another operating system, make sure to look for a similar fix.
I am thoroughly pleased with this headset. I am really blown away by the sound these things have. I've had headphones that cost twice as much but didn't have the sound quality. I can hear instruments in these that I didn't know where in my favorite songs. Also, I have never had a microphone this clear. There isn't a pop, crackle, echo...just smooth, clear-as-a-bell sound.
There are some reviews suggesting you not install the Sentey software. Well, I'm glad I didn't heed that advice. The software has some very cool features for customizing the sound environment. You don't just get the regular equalizer and that's it. I've been experimenting with playing music in everywhere from an amphitheater to a cave. I can tell you that if you choose one of these environment effects and it sounds really off, try changing the size of the environment. It seems they all have different sizes they sound better at than others. While I wouldn't use it, the karaoke function is kind of neat too.
I saw a review for the Vibros model that mentioned one of the ears not staying in place. That's the case on my SYNTH as well. I just took a piece of clear Scotch tape and stuck it to the smooth side, then put another piece over that. It's invisible, no sticky part is showing, and now the earpiece is just as tight as the other one. No one would know it was there unless I told them.
Regarding fit, I have one thing to say. Amazing. It took me some time to get used to the way they sit on your head rather than hug your ears, but I really prefer it. I didn't think the noise cancelling would work, but I was wrong. I wear glasses 24/7, so headphones have always been uncomfortable. But since these sit on your head and by your ears, no squeezing of the eyeglass frames.
I am 150% pleased with my purchase.
I just bought this one, received it today, and when I plugged it in and everything, the sound is amazing! It actually blocks the surrounding sounds.
I'm listening YouTube right now using the headphones.
The sound is possibly the best sound I've ever hears from headphones, and I've used plenty.
I'll post pictures for proof.
Only downside is the wire is a big long, tad heavy, but it doesn't matter since the sound and mic is all that matters to me.
It's been over a couple of months, probably longer.
I use the headset every single day, and so far, no problems. It works perfectly fine, and still sounds great.
Overall, I am pretty damn happy.
So the right side of the headphone does not work anymore. The left side still works.
I will sadly have to get another one. I might choose a different brand or different headset from the same company.
Overall, 9 months for a headset is a thumbs up for me.
I use it EVERYDAY for the past 9 months and it held up. So i'm glad.
The only problem I think I've run across is sometimes the sound gets really digital and messed up. This only began happening when I turned my digital 7.1 surround sound off. I would be very upset, though to fix it all you have to do is open the Symph program and toggle the digital 7.1 on and off again and you're good to go. Overall, I am quite happy with this headset and would recommend it.
OH! Lastly, this is a little silly. But I kind of really care about the look... I hate the funny-looking huge headsets. There weren't any pictures of people wearing the Symph, so I took the justice of taking one. Ignore my posing, I have issues with posing heroically in my pictures.
