Be informed that this contains the ENTIRE Season 1 (episodes 1-24), not just the first half of the season. Do not buy if you don't have a Blue-Ray-compatible reader, but I highly recommend it if you do and want to watch the series, either for the first time or as a fan.

Extras and commentaries included. Both the original Japanese and English are supported and Subtitles are available (in English) for both language options. A neat "Marathon" option is also available that cuts out the intros and outros for each episode to provide a smoother experience if you intend to watch the whole thing like a movie.

I made the mistake of buying the second half of Season 1 (separately) because it was not made clear that this contains the entire Season 1.

I thought I would pass this alone. I bought the Blu-ray set Season 1. It comes with 4 blu-rays. Part 1 and Part 2. Two discs each - 24 Episodes. NO DVDs - blu-ray only. Happy I have 24 Episodes. No subtitles - boo. Marathon mode! COOL. So FWIW.

This release is really well made, it looks beautiful and nicely contains the entire series.

The extras aren't too out of the box, only some art cards, stickers, and an artbook. But if you're okay with that then you will love the quality of this collector's edition.

The one corner of mine was a bit bent in, but that's just the shipping's fault.

But as nice as it is the Price is kind of high, you're paying almost $200 (at this point in time and after tax) for a chipboard box and artbook. The separate standard edition parts would add up to around $100ish, so if you just want the entire series itself then that would be a more effieicnet option.

Otherwise enjoy your well made collector's edition.
