It is dense, takes you to the subject right away and in fifty pages you should possess the core of the language.
What makes the book stand out is that it is unconventional, despite its standard format. It is very cleverly done,
leaves very little aside given its compactness and, importantly, it is extremely witty. The topical examples, which
in other methods usually do not carry any weight, manage to translate something of the author's and Serbian character. It
is the first time that I find myself smiling while reading a short sentence illustrating the genitive of a personal pronoun
or the conjugation of irregular verbs. That makes it very pleasant to work with.
Serbian is a difficult language, like most Slavic languages. The book does not intend to cover all of it. It is mostly targeted
to foreigners who intend to get some fluency for practical reasons, not to study the language formerly. Despite its obvious
goal, it does manage to be a reference, years into the learning, that you can carry easily around.
