Author B.J. Robinson is up to her usual heartwarming and faith-based creative story telling. Having already read Volume 1 in the Storms of Life Series, Volume 2 is equally as captivating and intriguing as the first installment.
Mark, a construction worker has definitely experienced more than one storm in life. First the murder of his wife Lilly and then the unfortunate accident on his job which cost him his leg. He thought he would never love again until he meets Serenity, a young nurse on staff during the time of his ordeal. Although ten years his junior, Serenity falls madly in love with Mark, this handsome hunk of a man.
Three years later they marry and enjoy a memorable honeymoon in Smokey Mountain, Tennessee. Douglass and Vera stand up for them at their wedding. They are not only Mark's best friends, he is employed by Douglass. Mark is distressed about his desk job. Since his unfortunate accident he is yet to return to his former job as a heavy equipment operator. He manages to persuade Douglass to let him do just that after Mark agrees to train his replacement. All is going relatively well and he is definitely relieved to be back at his old job. Life is good and Mark is very grateful to have found new love and to once again be doing the job he loves. Then the tornado hits...followed by a series of other storms in Mark's life. Great romance mystery novella! Author B.J. Robinson has done it again. She has provided her readers with yet another work of art!

I'm Not Perfect and It's Okay
Serenity Through The Storm is the second installment in Robinson's Storm's of Life series, and though this is her first attempt at writing a series, she is above and beyond other writers embarking on such a feat.
Serenity Through The Storm flows seamlessly from its predecessor Calm Before The Storm, which has been rereleased on February 22, 2013. The central theme of not only believing and having faith in God, but to also let go of the heavy load that is upon your shoulders and giving it the Lord to carry is maintained effortlessly as well at the love, drama, and quirks of each of the beloved characters.
The woman who had caused so much pain for Vera and Mark is long gone and rotting in a prison cell leaving everyone to get on with their lives. Vera and Douglass have a beautiful daughter and Mark and Serenity tie the knot. After their honeymoon they return to everyday life vowing to maintain their honeymoon in some way.
Serenity continues working at the hospital while Mark goes back to working construction though not in the capacity he would like. He would rather be back working with the heavy machinery, not sitting behind a desk pushing papers all day long. He's confident that because he is able to drive his car with his prosthetic leg he should be able to drive the big equipment as well. So what does Mark do? He climbs up on the grader and grades the gravel road and driveway fronting the office with his best friend and partner Douglass watching.
While the two friends eat lunch at Sissy's Cafe one day, Mark finds himself looking into the eyes of a murderer. Though her nametag said Melinda, all he sees is Tillie. Take into consideration that two convicts had just recently escaped prison and you have one heck of a drama. Is Tillie one of those escaped convicts? Is Melinda really Tillie? And are our four friends safe from this new storm in their lives?
As is par for the course with Robinson's books, I thoroughly enjoyed Serenity Through The Storm. I loved how easily it flowed from book one through the end of this one. As I said to BJ after reading Serenity, I am always amazed that each time I get caught up in day-to-day life and need a reminder that the Lord is in control not me, I am given the opportunity to read another of her fantastic books.
I certainly hope that Douglass, Vera, Mark, and Serenity have seen the last of Tillie, but you never know what will happen next. I, for one, can't wait to find out.
