◆ Start by following your natural curiosity.
◆ To do nothing with the resources we’re given because we fear the possible outcome is offensive.
◆ Plan enough to be convinced that it can work. Then jump in.
◆ Winners take what they know right now and choose the best course of action they can.
◆ “I go with my gut feeling when I have acquired information somewhere in the range of 40 to 70 percent”
◆ If you feel like you’re not making progress, ask yourself, What decision am I not making?
◆ Winners launch into every project with a mindset and plan to overdo it at the start. Because “just do it” isn’t good enough.
◆ As it says in Ecclesiastes 9: 10, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.”
◆ Underestimating is one of the biggest causes of failure. The best way to combat it is by overdoing.
◆ Winners manage themselves to success by focusing on what they can control. Others get beat by letting their minds wander toward those things they can’t control.
◆ Two out of the three times you try to accomplish something, it will go wrong.
◆ It’s only when you get to the farthest limit of your resources that new resources appear. Law: To receive more, use all of what you have.
◆ While you can’t guarantee success, you can put the odds in your favor—substantially—through lots of activity as fast as possible.
◆ For now, take a deep breath and say the following: It will not always take this much effort. It will not always be this confusing. It will not always feel so awkward. It will not always be this stressful.
◆ If I’ve learned anything about winning, it’s this: You can’t piddle your way to greatness. You have to give it everything you’ve got. If you want to win, don’t waste time giving it a halfhearted effort. Focus on getting past start as fast as you can.
◆ I’ve heard many say they think about quitting two or three times every day. If you don’t feel the same way you’re probably not involved in anything very special or exciting.
◆ If you’ve got a glimmer of a shot and you really want it, work against all odds.
◆ “Whatever you do, do heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
◆ The difference between complicated and simple is often the difference between winning and losing.
◆ The best way forward is to fight to keep things simple—and it will be a fight.
◆ If you’re going for something you really want, you’ll fight for it. You’ll overcome any obstacle in your path. It’s the only way to win.
◆ “It seems like it takes 98 percent of the effort to get the last 2 percent done.”
◆ What do serial winners do? They stay on high alert. They turn over every stone, think through every last step, explore every vulnerability, and check and recheck to avoid being derailed at the last minute.
◆ in the last two weeks, the problems that arise seem almost insurmountable—You start to believe that the win is guaranteed. This is how great teams lose. This is how even successful people suddenly lose.
◆ Effort and fight activate all your advantages
◆ Effort and fight—determination, bulldog tenacity—are the only things you can control.
◆ Doing anything great will be inconvenient.
◆ Spend the majority of your time on the things you most want to do (because they are likely the best use of your time) and get brutally efficient at everything else.
◆ You have to impose your will until you find success.
◆ Big success is found in the finer points of execution.
◯ Those who don't find ways to measure their progress tend to stagnate while deluding themselves all the while that they are actually making progress. (Personal note)
◯ If you're not fighting for your needs, then consider yourself already fallen. (Personal note)
◯ Set big daily activity goals to ignite the heat necessary to break through. (Personal note)
Larry says that the path changes as we draw closer to the goal, and even Homer eludes to this in his Odyssey. He calls it the 2 percent zone, where you need to be on high alert to avoid being derailed. All these details and more make this book my top pick for success. I only wish that Larry would give more word to the importance of intuition and the Law of Suggestion. I mean, Larry's process is great but only if used for the right things, and there is no degree of action or intuition that can lead to success if your subconscious mind is armed against you. I am speaking from experience.
In SERIAL WINNER, our solutions come twofold: first, we get a gem written by Primerica pioneer and legend, Larry Weidel, one of the greatest to ever do it! We get to tap into the invaluable intuitive insight & experience from one of us who can relate to the unique challenges each of us may encounter whether simply going for a big goal, or chasing after a big dream.
Secondly, the genius in this book is that Larry Weidel has mastered making things simple!! In only 5 Steps, Larry Weidel lays out how he figured out & adjusted things to build a massive business that not only changed his fortunes forever, but also those of countless individuals & families who sold out & bought into his philosophy about winning. We are treated thru simple genius how to win professionally as well as personally!!
This book is not only the PERFECT read to stop the confusion and start you on your way towards winning, but also to usher in a newer, greater era where ALL can participate in its success!! You cannot afford not to read and implement these steps. The Steps have been tried, true and tested and WORKS! Time to WIN NOW. LET'S GO GO GO!
It is not about big changes but making small adjustments that lead to big results.
