I felt different after I read this book. Smarter. Nicer. Stronger. Happier. The world looked a little bit different. And I felt better about everything. (And I was happy already).
But the book is not only uplifting and empowering. It is hilariously funny! Much funnier than her previous two books. They were light time passers. Good for a chuckle. But Ellen has matured since then. And this book is at a higher level in all departments. I found myself laughing constantly at how clever something was. And I rarely find a book laugh out loud funny. But this one certainly is.
Full of Ellens winning life philosophy...told in the form of funny stories. Some true, some not. There is love. Freedom of thought. Creativity. Inspiration. This book felt like more than a book.
It feels like an experience. An experience not to be missed. Recommended.
The print edition is 240 pages with short chapters and plenty of space between the lines so you can easily pick it up and put it down as time permits. These are short essays of observations on everything from being judge on American Idol to being married to her wife Portia. Either format will entertain you - it did me - if you are an Ellen fan (I am). The Print version allows you to go back and read - or share - a special chapter., while the audio version allows you to hear her voice and timing.
Humor is one of the hardest things to bring off in print, but Ellen does it wonderfully and makes it seem so effortless. She can certainly write a terrifically funny book that is filled with inspiring messages (not the in-your-face kind, though, the inspiration just flows naturally) that I believe are helpful for women everywhere. Writing is just one of this funny woman's many talents. The inspiration in the book is simply an added bonus to the humor.
Overall, terrific, entertaining read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a laugh and some inspiration as well. I think it's sure to bring a smile to your face as it did mine.

I have been an Ellen fan since the 1980's. But I have to say after about ten minutes she was annoying and I wanted her to shut up, so I made her.Published 14 days ago by BEEDOT68
She really is hilarious. I have not laughed out loud so bisly in a long time. Was a bout confusing at the end but always funnyPublished 16 days ago by Kindle Customer
I just love Ellen. I don't think she could write a book I don't like!!!!Published 22 days ago by sandi
As much as I love Ellen, I didn't love this book. It was more of a rambling monologue than it was a memoir. In fact, this shouldn't be considered in the biography section at all. Read morePublished 1 month ago by mshsteach
I've seen low reviews for this and I honestly don't normally look at reviews for the book that I think I'm going to enjoy. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Brian
Love her live. She is generous. But I could not finish this book because it was a sorry attempt at humor with no backbone. She has apparently spread herself too thinly. Read morePublished 1 month ago by David A Levin
