"Ms. Hargrave writes in a way that totally engages her readers and eases them into the story. I was intrigued from the get go." ~MartiniTimes.com
*****
"This book was an incredibly intimate look at what the Lifestyle can truly be. I absolutely loved it. The truth rang out so clearly in this book that I truly wonder how anyone could have enjoyed 50 Shades of Grey. 50 Shades paled in comparison to this book series." ~Cynthia from Cynthia Bloggs

To serve is divine had me from the start! I had never read something like this and was so not prepared , but was hooked from the first chapter. To give yourself fully to someone and serve without question has to be the utmost single scary thing in the world , except in the world of BDSM, it is the most freeing and ultimately most pleasure filled part of it. Catherine gives herself freely to her Sir and in return truly finds herself and is able to start healing her past. Jayden is handsome ; and jaded and feels unfulfilled without realizing it till Catherine enters his life and he truly finds himself too. A serious must read and beginning to what will be a truly awesome series.

This book is for slash, BDSM, and smut lovers. If the idea of two men having sex and threesomes skeeve out, this might not be for you. This story is set in the world of BDSM where characters beg for pain. They are dominants and submissives.

Now I say you might not like it, because there is a good chance you could if you tried it with an open mind. Honestly, this type of thing freaks me out and makes me uncomfortable. I can't imagine ever wanting to be flogged and whipped. It's some people's cup of tea, but not mine ... usually.

I received this as an arc, and had it not been for that fact, I might have flounced it early on for the non monogamous relationships and male/male scenes. But I weathered on, because even though this type of thing would be considered a hard limit for me (BDSM pun intended) ... Ms. Hargrave writes in a way that totally engages her readers and eases them into the story. I was intrigued from the get go.

If you've ever been curious about the kind of mind frame of someone who lives this lifestyle is in, or about the details of playtime and scening in a way that educates without being droll or boring, but instead allows you to get to know Catherine and Jayden intimately, READ THIS BOOK.

To Serve is Divine is the first book of a trilogy. I may not fantasize about being dominated or submitting myself to a man, but this book is so well written. I really loved it, because I put myself in Catherine and Jayden's shoes which allowed me to feel what they were feeling.

There is a plot to this book. It's not just porn. Catherine has been abused by her past dom, but she craves the lifestyle, and she meets Jayden who eases her (and the readers) into it. To Serve is Divine is sexy, engaging, and tugs on your heart.

Let me start by saying this is my first time reading RE Hargrave, but it is not my last I loved this book. This was one of the best free reads that I have read in a long time. I adored Catherine/ Erin, she was sweet and kind, even though she's had some horrible experiences in her past. She was feisty and cheery around Jayden and not at all the weak as an abused woman that people tend to associate with the dominant/submissive relationship. Jayden oozed hotness and dominance. He is a great Dom but I struggled early on with him having more than one sub. Then I realized how much he cared for them and that Catherine was his main focus. He did his best to try and help Catherine through all of her "issues" and that made him even hotter. The sex scenes were explosive. The BDSM was very well written and you could tell the author knows her stuff. The wax play scene was beautifully written and I thought I was going to need some ice water after I read it because it was hot as hell. This book was an absolute joy to read. I also liked how Jayden helped Catherine with the abuse that she suffered at the hands of someone posing as a dom one of those slippery slopes in the BDSM community. I love reading BDSM and this one was really well written and I can't wait to read the continuing story of Jayden and Catherine.

An amazing find! There is nothing better than a late night stroll through amazon.com to find a new favorite, An author that was unknown to me, but quickly peeked my curiosity. To Serve is Divine by R.E. Hargrave was my lucky find. I was quickly whisked away into the world of Jayden and Catherine. Ms. Hargrave sucked me in with the first chapter, with Catherine's anxious wait out side Dungeons and Dreams and her first meeting of Jayden.I chose to keep reading rather than eat, sleep or clean just to see how Catherine return to a lifestyle she craves would shape around Jayden, a Dom in search of the missing sub in his control or maybe something more than he ever realized.

Ms. Hargraves wove a story so beautifully vivid it was as if you were watching Jayden and Catherine explore not only each others bodies but worlds up close and personally.

An amazing story written by a truly gifted author, the only good thing about coming to the end of the book was learning it was a trilogy and I have two more books before I have to say good bye to these fantastic characters.

I was provided with a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
This is a book that involves BDSM. However, the BDSM does not rule the storyline and it is very tastefully done. The D/s relationship in this book is not one I've read about in other BDSM books and that sets this book apart from the others. Where the others are about the sex and how downright dirty BDSM can be, this books shows and deals with real issues, from real life experiences.
Catherine or Erin, depending, is a trained but damaged submissive who has suffered at the hands of her Dom. She meets Jayden at an exclusive BDSM night. From here they start a D/s relationship together, Catherine however, is not Jayden's only submissive.
Jayden likes his submissive's to be able to handle pain. Although he likes to give pain he will only do it to those who are willing to accept.
Jayden isn't looking for a relationship and Catherine is too damaged to handle one.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book and the way that the author has put the BDSM as a by-line to both Jayden and Catherine's issues.
The characters were really easy to connect with, the storyline was well developed and the scene setting was handled well.
