I read a lot of the reviews for the Sesame Street Alphabet game and was hesitant to buy either game since it had mostly horrible reviews. Lo and behold a few days ago my husband came home with this one. My 2-1/2 year old cannot play some of the games by himself as he has problems getting the controller to respond properly and some of the games seem a bit advanced for him right now.

However, we play as a family...letting him use the controller for the games he can play and then helping him by an adult using the controller and he points at the correct answer on the screen. It's a pretty fun time. I'm guessing he'll master the controller soon and will be able to play on his own. We also use the Cookie Monster cover on the controller and have had no issues....as you only use the 2 button and this cover doesn't cover that button.

All that said, we absolutely love playing this game together. Lots of laughter and he's learning his numbers! Already put the other game on our wish list for Christmas since he gets such a kick out of this one!

We are working with our 3 year old daughter on her numbers and this was right up our alley! She loves playing it and has so much fun! There are some games that are over her head and she needs help figuring out the answers, but we are play as a family! She doesn't seem to have much difficulty moving the controller to get it to do what she wants! Overall we love this game!!!

The software developers for this game obviously weren't top talent, but regardless there should have been some better work done here. My biggest issue is the characters are overly verbose. And while they are talking, the remote is essentially locked out. So younger kids that haven't mastered the controller get frustrated because it works sometimes and not others. My next beef is the characters themselves, they just flap their jaw, it isn't even timed with the voice. Lastly the game is pretty short. If you have someone that loves cookie, they will still get some enjoyment but there will be plenty of frustration as well.

This is a wonderful game for toddlers. I bought it about a year and a half ago. My daughter is just now starting to play it and she really is learning a lot from this game. Keeps her occupied for at least an hour.

We just got our Wii and our kids are so excited. They love playing on the computer and my 2 year old plays a Sesame Street one pretty well by herself so I thought this would be great for her and my preschooler (age 4). It is grossly overpriced for the games on there - you are paying for the Sesame Street name. You don't even get to personalize it with their name. They get assigned a shape & number as their profile. Lame. The remote is unresponsive which is frustrating because she will put it on the right answer (after much work!) and then it suddenly moves. It is completely boring for my 4 year because she knows her shapes, colors and numbers so it basically has become a game just for my 2 year old. It is very very basic - a good thing for your very young player, but I would have expected that you can select levels of learning. I am pretty disappointed that my 4 year old can't be challenged by this game. It's also frustrating if you have a very independent child (like I do!) who wants to do the remote all by themselves and it won't respond. The game has 2 sections Carnival and Games. In Games you can just select which games from the Carnival you want to play instead of going through the whole carnival....my daughter likes certain pattern games and it only gives you 3 patterns before returning to the menu. A trivial complaint but when you have problems with the remote it becomes annoying to maneuver back to where you were because your child still wants to play that same game. Overall a disappointment, but I guess nice to have a game for just our youngest to play since there are very few things that are just hers. Would have liked to pay a lot less for it...

I bought this for my four year old. She has been increasingly interested in playing games on the wii so I had to find something for her age, this was perfect! The game is fun for her and it even has some games that promote movement. The cookie monster remote cover is absolutely adorable and helps children to direct themselves to the right buttons to push instead of being confused with all the buttons. It covers all but the two needed. Would definitly buy another game like it. It came within a reasonable time frame of when it told me it would be here and packing quality was great.

My kids are preschool aged at 3 & 4 and they really love playing this game. I rated it at 4 stars for two reasons, I feel like there is a lot of Jibber jabber going on when you are playing the game during which you can't do anything play wise, you have to wait until the character is done talking. Not so good with impatient children who just want to continue when they make a mistake and want to try again right away (the character provides "helpful" hints when they choose a wrong answer/item). The other reason is that I feel it gets more difficult than it should, allegedly it adapts difficulty to how well they are doing, but I'm not sure it does this very well as often times they need me to help them. That being said, I think this could actually be a good thing as it does offer them a somewhat interactive challenge, and off handedly encourages the parents to participate. Its a good supplemental tool for learning, which is always handy with distractable children.
