The SESAME STREET COUNT 'N CRUNCH COOKIE MONSTER lets your child treat him to his favorite "food" and hear him counting up to three. Put one of his three cookies into his mouth and it will slide right into his red backpack. He also loves to be tickled--press his foot over and over again to hear him giggle. Soft and cuddly, Cookie Monster is ready for hugs and kisses. He loves them almost as much as he loves his cookies!
Feed and Count with His Favorite Treat
Cookie Monster is a fun and hungry friend. Decide whether he's in the mood for chocolate-chocolate chip or regular chocolate chip, and feed him his three cookies one at a time. And don't forget--he's keeping count. When your child slips a cookie into his open mouth, it moves into his backpack so he'll never run out of his favorite snack.
Tickle, Giggle, and Cuddle with Cookie Monster
When he's done eating, treat Cookie Monster to a tickle session and hear him giggle and laugh. His soft fur is great for cuddling time. Your child can take him everywhere- just don't forget the cookies!

You can very obviously hear the mechanics in him moving when he talks. Also, his head seems pretty fragile, though we haven't had any problems with it breaking. His bottom "base" isn't flat, so he wobbles around a lot. He's not soft, his fur is soft, but his body is hard. He hasn't gotten dirty yet, so I dunno how hard he is to clean, but he can't be machine washed. For adults, the laughing feature can get annoying. It would also be great if there was a way to securely close the backpack for travel. We've lost a cookie because there is no latch.
My son (2 years old) loves him though, he carries him all over by Cookie's eyes, it would have been better if maybe there was a handle on Cookie's backpack. The concept is so simple, I didn't even have to show my son how to use the toy. There are only 3 cookies and Cookie himself only counts up to 3. I wish they had made him count up to 5 with 5 cookies, since I think 5 is a pretty natural number to stop at (5 fingers, 5 toes...) My son laughs at the burping, Cookie DOES say "excuse me" which is nice. It keeps his attention for a very long time. It's great to take along on doctor visits. It's not as large as most interactive stuffed animals, and fits nicely in my son's lap while he's in his stroller.Read more ›

One note - if you Cookie Monster seems to be working incorrectly double-check because it may be in demo or "Try Me" mode.
A Few Details
- Cookie Monster only comes with three cookies, so try not to lose any of them, since they can not be replaced.
- Cookie Monster has about 6 or seven phrases that he repeats - just enough to keep this Cookiee from getting stale.
- Comes with 4 AA batteries
- One volume setting
- Cookie Monster is very soft, but not too cuddly
- The bottom of Cookie Monster is curved, so whenever he laughs (or eats) he rocks back and forth.
Final Verdict - Cookie Monster is a fun toy, but it he doesn't offer lot of staying power. I would still recommend the to any toddler who enjoys Cookie Monster and/or Sesame Street.
I do notice he tries to play mind games with Cookie Monster, namely by holding a cookie in his open throat to see exactly where he's triggering the sensor. Cookie Monster holds out and keeps asking for the cookie (doesn't falsely think he's eaten it when my son still has it, so the kid never gets to have his GOTCHA! moment). I don't know why my son does this to him, though! He's testing him.
Other times, he cradles Cookie Monster and says "baby!" He thinks all toys that are smaller than some other version of the toy or character are babies.
All in all, can't beat the fun he's gotten out of the toy for the price. His speech therapist, occupational therapist, and special instructor all thought it was a good choice.
