I still have my original version on vcr tape because I bought it 19 years ago when my granddaughter was a toddler. Now my great grandson is a toddler and I played the vcr tape for him 3 weeks ago. His reaction mirrored his mother's. I was so happy to find it on dvd. This video is ageless and entertaining.... and even though i have watched it no less than 500 times through all grandchildren, I still find it enjoyable. Nothing like music to brighten a day! Definitely one of Sesame Street's best!

I am a grandmother of 2 little boys I have the fortune to take care of for my Daughter when she works. One is 2 the other 6 months. I am their gram-ma, their day care provider, their preschool teacher. As special music programs are being removed from most elementary schools now it is vital for children to learn music from alternate sources. I take my grandchildren's education very seriously. I love how "Let's Make Music" DVD teaches rhythm and music instrument experimentation. Since we've been watching this DVD I've notice my grandson's paying more attention to the beat of their normal music. Their clapping and foot step dancing is more to the music now that they are more aware. It's fun. I recommend adding it to your educational DVDs.

I wanted to give this five starts because I LOVE old-school ("classic") Sesame Street, with ALL the characters (not just Elmo) that I grew up seeing. This is a great video and lots of fun. But it could have been better. For one thing, it's pretty short. Also, although I like the cleverness of showing how you can make rhythm and music with everyday objects, I would have loved to have seen them introduce some basic instruments so toddlers can learn about what individual musical instruments look and sound like. Still, a decent addition to our collection.

I purchased this five years ago for my 2 year nephew and he loved it and dances around to it. Now he's a big boy (7), and it's going to go to my 3 year old cousin lol. I hope he likes it too.

My three year old daughter has a fondness for all things musical, but seeing as to how she has a spectrum disorder, I never know what she'll like or dislike -- even when it has a musical theme. I learned the hard way that it would be better for me to borrow movies from Netflix and test them out on her before purchasing them. I did exactly that and now I'm here on Amazon to purchase "Let's Make Music". At first, DD didn't like the large amounts of dialogue compared to other Sesame Street videos such as
Kids' Favorite Songs
or
Sing Yourself Silly!
.
But she loved seeing her favorite characters create music out of items that she could imitate right at home (like Bert's song about an Oatmeal box). She also is a big fan of the Pinball machine song by the Pointer Sisters -- those of you who are my age or older will remember it fondly too.
The only thing I disliked about it was that the ending came sort of abruptly or it was sorta of anti-climatic. The grand performance at the end wasn't exactly grand. But it's my daughter's opinion that matters and she'd give it 5 stars.

I purchased this video based on the wonderful ratings from other customers who also purchased it. It has been a huge hit with my 20 month old grand-daughter. She not only has become crazy about Elmo but it has encouraged her love for music and rhythm so very much. She watches it over and over and so have all her caregivers. We actually love this video too. It is so creative when it comes to "making music" whenever , wherever or whatever with!! It features some Stomp cast members which makes it so amazing. You'll find yourself making music too if you purchase this and watch it! I highly recommend this one

I bought this years ago for my kids when they were Elmo-crazy. They're past that phase now but I can't seem to part with my VHS copy. I know, that's crazy right? But it is one of my all time favorite (little) kids movies. If you like rhythmic music this one will entertain YOU as well as your kids. The STOMP performers are excellent and the tunes are very catchy.
My niece is now Elmo-obsessed but I can't seem to part with my copy so I'm on amazon buying one for her. Guess you could say that's the definition of this being "a keeper!"

One of my fave Sesame Street videos and my son owns a lot. Thank you to Stomp cast and to Kevin Clash for making this great episode. You have saved many bad days and this video has become part of the soundtrack of my son's childhood- this and Elmo's Singing with the Stars. Wonderful!

リズム感を磨く
Reviewed in Japan on May 12, 2011Verified Purchase
