Top Customer Reviews
The author offers practical exercises that he discovered in his own quest for sleep. Watermolen states that while we are taught many things while growing up, we are not taught the proper way to go to sleep. As a result, many of us suffer through each long night tossing and turning and praying that sleep will come.
The book debunks why much of the conventional wisdom regarding getting to sleep is worthless unless you also use a proper sleep technique. Sure, staying away from caffeine and not taking naps during the day helps but, it is still not the answer as far as turning off the mind at bed-time goes. Learning how to clear the mind is the solution and, this book offers just that through numerous easy to do exercises.
The sleep exercises in the book are clear and simple to follow. There's also a synopsis of the points covered in each chapter at the chapter's end, which makes it quick and easy to refer back to. Plus, the book is short enough to read in one day and then apply the techniques you learned that same night. If you have trouble falling asleep I highly recommend, "Set Your Sleep on Autopilot."
