This is one of the best contemporary romances I have read in a while. It was realistic, engaging and had juuuuuust the right amount of spice and humor to keep it very interesting.
Kelsie cracked me up to no end. I loved everything about her. Her dog added some wonderful comic relief to the story at many different times, and had me laughing at loud more than once. Kelsie was just too quirky not to love.
Sawyer, while a player, revealed his vulnerable side to Kelsie and that made him so endearing.
Yes, they had some kind of half-baked arrangement in the beginning, with the "teach me how to date" business, but the they lingered longer, and I loved reading how their their feelings changed towards each other. I am a total sucker for that kind of scenario.
This book was so well-written, and the humor was fantastic. I would not classify this as a romantic comedy by any means, but some of the one-liners had me laughing out loud!
(As an avid romance reader, I also appreciated the many jabs at the cliches used in far too many romance novels)
All in all, I am SO happy I bought this book and would, without hesitation, buy more in this series!!!
This is one of the best contemporary romances series that I have read in a while. Every story in this series so far has felt so realistic. The stories themselves are very engaging, and they all have just the right amount of HOT sexiness and humor to keep them very interesting, from beginning to end. I always get a big kick at how the guys mother always chimes in with a strong reprimand clear from the other room, when the boys seem to get a boisterious, or are caught using fowl language. It's funny how all mothers seem to delvelop a super power of hearing, and eye sight the minute their first child is born.
Can't wait to read more. Off to read the next installment now!
There are plenty of reviews, plus the ad copy to give the plot but I'll hit my personal highlights.
As a male - seriously? Hadn't gotten over a water incident yet? Then the hero realizes he must make a choice? Sounds like real life to me.
The heroine wasn't weak, either. Inexperienced, troubled on some level, but not your typical romance heroine we all love to hate. That means the author did a damn good job of developing the characters. The sex scenes were pretty intense when they finally got to them. The passion between the H/H was explosive. I can't wait to pick up another book by this author.
