The 7 Rings of Marriage is one of the best books I've read on marriage, ever. (And, I'd like to say, as a pastor, I've read a lot of books on the subject.) It's the first real roadmap I've seen that captures what the real marriage experience is all about...and how to get the best from it.

This book is now required reading for anyone who asks me to officiate their wedding. During pre-marriage counseling, the couple and I will be able to refer to it often because of the humility, transparency and authenticity that Jackie writes with.

If you are married, you and your spouse will benefit from reading this...no matter what's going on in your marriage.

This book is a perfect gift to newly engaged couples.

I also plan to share this book with seasoned couples who may not realize they have reached the 7th Ring of Marriage and other couples need them to mentor them.

This is an extremely poorly written book. I am so confused by any good reviews. The information is so poorly researched and extremely basic that it is far from helpful, life-changing, or even original. Much of it is taken from other sources and just common sense. Not only is the language and grammar extremely elementary, the concepts are as well. This book is more of a self-righteous autobiography or a delusional personal diary than a self-help book for married couples. It was horribly irritating to read. The author rambles on and on and ON about his own “perfect” personal life via these pointless stories that you end up trying to skim through to get to the meat of the chapter only to find THERE IS NONE (example: “Boundaries: important to have them” the END…??) ! I can’t believe this is offered to couples to use in group therapy. It is not written by a qualified professional by any means. This book is ridiculous and I do not recommend this for ANY mature couple or group looking for real help or advice in their marriages. I do NOT recommend this. If I could give it negative stars I would. Please don’t waste your time and look to other licensed professionals that are qualified in this field.

Jackie has created (or discovered, perhaps) a very helpful framework to help us better understand and navigate marriage.

My wife and I have been married over 14 years. Boy, I wish I'd've had the chance to read about the first 3 Rings in the first couple years.

It's encouraging to know 1) that you're not going through something strange as you work through the early stages -- particularly DiscoverRING -- and 2) that there are better days ahead if you're willing to commit to your spouse and your ONENESS.

Jackie gives some terrific advice and shares some great stories. But it's his vulnerability and willingness to "put himself out there" that bring this book to life.

I think this is must-read material for couples and should be in the libraries of every marriage counselor and pastor.
