I was a little worried by the MC aspect. The few biker novels I've picked up are drenched with details that are identical to the Sons of Anarchy TV show. I understand how MC's work, but they seem to copy and paste everything from SOA. However, the synopsis for Seven Sons was too damn intriguing to not take a chance on.
I am so glad I did!
The story begins with Juliette describing her mission to enact revenge on a group of men who ruined her in every sense of the word. Dornan Ross and his seven sons did foul things to her as a teenager. She carefully sets a plan into motion to infiltrate their Gypsy Motorcycle Club. Juliette is ready to deliver pay back and pick them off one by one.
Well, maybe not every single one.
Lili St. Germain had me sat on the edge of my seat, gripping my iPad, waiting for the next thing to happen. Every single detail of this story had me engaged. Juliette is a strong, bad-you know what- woman who has been one of my favorite heroines I've read to date. Lili's debut has made one hell of an impression on me. Her writing is superb and I'm dying for the next installments in the series.
Seven Sons is dark, gritty and twisted.. my kind of novel!
So, to the characters.
Sammi. I LOVE Sammi!
She is out for revenge and will do WHATEVER it takes to exact that revenge. Let me repeat that.. WHATEVER IT TAKES. Dornan Ross and his sons took everything from her when she was younger and she needs their blood in return. I have a bit of a girl crush on Sammi because I totally love strong heroines and she freaking kicks ass!
Dornan Ross. President of the MC. Twisted, sick man. I hate him! To me, there is not an ounce of anything in him that could turn me on or make me like him. Lili has done an awesome job of writing Dornan because I can totally picture clearly everything she has him say and do. And I just want to take a gun, hold it to his head and shoot him! So, yeah, the writing here is top notch because I felt absolutely everything Lili was portraying.
To exact her revenge, Sammi must worm her way into Dornan's life and find a way to take out his sons one by one and then ultimately, him. BUT, then there is Jase, one of Dornan's sons and Sammi has a history with him. It will be interesting to see how this part of the story pans out - I am hanging to find that out!
And then there is Elliot - Sammi's friend who has always been there for her. I swooned over Elliot and I have my fingers crossed that these two will eventually get together. But, OH... Jase...Read more ›
Now that she has grown to an adult, she has one thing on her mind, REVENGE. The men who hurt her should pay. To what end is she willing to go to make her dream a reality? Will she hold onto any part of herself in the process? There are 7 sons.....
Wowza! I love the transformation of Julz. I love her interactions in this book and her nature to survive. She has so much strength and it is felt in every scene of this novella! I am falling slowing and irrevocably in love with my newest book boyfriend Jase! I cannot wait to see what is next in the life of these characters!
I could not put this book down wondering who was going to be the first to taste the wrath of a woman betrayed.
Lili's book is fast moving and never leaves you wanting.
Juliette changes her entire appearance in order to achieve her goal.
Well worth the 5***** rating given.
ONE down SIX to go!!!
This book was a crazy, frightening, depraved, gross, just flat out dirty intro to this series/serial. And I was riveted.
I could not turn away. As uncomfortable as this story made me, I still NEEDED to know what would happen next. And as crazy as it sounds, even to me, I find myself actually caring a little bit & having some kind of compassion towards the man who has set these horrible things in motion. I'm speaking of Dornan And I'm asking myself...
"Why? Why do I care? Considering what this man & his sons have done to this young woman. What they have reduced her to, why do I care what happens to him? Why do I feel compassion for a soul that clearly isn't there?"
Well, that's what I have to find out. Which is why I'm reading the next 2 books immediately.
I would recommend this read for those who like their stories beyond dark & gritty.
For those who have a curious mind like myself though, *PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION* with this book/serial.
