Please keep all cleaning products out of the reach of children. Seventh Generation products, although not intended for consumption, aren’t poisonous. IF SWALLOWED: Drink plenty of water and consult a physician. EYE CONTACT: If this product comes in contact with eyes, flush out with water.

Ingredients

Aqua (water), sodium citrate (plant-derived water softener), sodium silicate (mineral protection agent and alkalinity builder), ppg-10-laureth-7 (plant-modified synthetic cleaning agent), glycerin (plant-derived enzyme stabilizer), citric acid (plant-derived processing aid and pH adjuster), sodium borate and calcium chloride (mineral enzyme stabilizers), protease and amylase (plant-derived enzyme soil removers), xanthan gum (thickener), sodium hydroxide (mineral-derived pH adjuster), methylisothiazolinone and benzisothiazolinone (synthetic preservatives).

Directions

Place in main dispenser cup and closer immediately. Follow manufacturer’s instructions to be sure items are dishwasher safe. Silver, aluminum and stainless steel should be washed in separate loads to avoid discoloration. Washing full loads conserves water.

Excellent for Eczema

My daughter has issues with eczema. For years, I didn't use a dishwasher. Then when I tried to use one again, she immediately experienced a flair up. I researched this issue and, yes, there is a connection. So I tested different products and this one - Seventh Generation Dishwasher Detergent Gel (FREE & CLEAR) was the only one which did not cause a reaction.

But I had a problem. My dishes weren't getting clean. Or a filmy residue was being left behind. I found myself re-rinsing my dishes by hand as I pulled them out of the dishwasher.

Then one day I taught my daughter how to use the dishwasher. She accidentally dumped far too much gel into the place you pour the dishwasher detergent, easily 3x the amount I usually used. (I had specifically been told to use only 1 teaspoon by an appliance repair guy.) Well, hurray for my daughter! The dishes came out perfectly, and I've been overfilling that little compartment ever since.

Let's just say I thought I was saving money and doing my family good by purchasing this dishwasher detergent...I wasn't. It leaves my dishes dirty: plates, bowls, serving spoons, you name it. My clear glasses have now been clouded and stained after using this product for a few months. I've never had an issue with a dirty dishwasher until I used this product. I use many other Seventh Generation products (and am very happy with them); however, save yourself the money and don't bother with this product. It's a major disappointment.

Life this stuff! It's impossible to fund in store near me so I'm glad Amazon carries this. It's a bit more expensive than the lemon version which all my local stores do carry but I dont mind spending the few bucks more for the unscented version in an effort to prolong my silverware. Also its completely unscented which I like - I'm sensitive to scents and have no issues with this product.

New bottle cap hard to open

I have used this detergent for a long time. I try to keep septic system free of harsh chemicals. The latest shipment came with the same bottles but a redesigned cap. The new cap is harder to open since it's a round indentation, not a lip to grab to open. I may have to find another brand since my hand can no longer flip open the top to fill the washer cups. Sad.

I bought 6 bottles and gave it to my wife. I didn't tell her anything about some of the reviews. And sure enough a couple weeks she said(on her own) it cleaned the dishes but she didn't like the film it left on some of the dishes and glasses. I so wish this would have worked. I used Dimond Bright before which does an excellent job but is so expensive.
