I liked the story, it's a bit like Constantine, at least it seams to borrow some similar contrast. The angels are pretty ignorant for being immortals, and seeming they can bleed is weird. The end made me want to bash my head against to table considering how stupid both Nehaveh and Archard are ugg. I'm on the third book now, but if you can hand the darkness and all that comes with it, then you'll enjoy this book.

Severance (Faltering Souls #2) was a great read by Haven Cage. Navaeh faces the gravity of her choice to save those she loves. She struggles to keep herself and the beast inside her in check. Archard watches as the world suffers for his mistakes. He chases Nev to heal the hole in his heart and right his wrongs. But all he gets is more questions everywhere he turns. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Severance picks up right where Falter left off.

Nevaeh is struggling to keep her goodness. She is in the pits of Hell and punished every time her goodness shines through. She knew her decision would be difficult but hoped it wouldn't take her so long to find George. All she wants is to rescue George's soul and get it to Heaven where it belongs.

Archard is trying to comes to terms with Nevaeh's decision and how the world is changing, based on that decision. Archard blames himself for not protecting her better. He keeps searching for her and a way to save her. Archard refuses to give up hope.

Severance is darker than Falter. Nevaeh has to survive multiple punishments and a part of her wants them. The longer she stays in Hell the more her powers are growing and the darkness is trying to overpower her. This story is a battle not just between good and evil, Heaven and Hell but also between fate and the power of free will. But could they be the same thing for Nevaeh?

The ending was sad, exciting, and heartbreaking. I can't wait to see what Haven Cage has in store for the third and final book.

Great follow up to Falter

Severance is the second book in the Faltering Souls Series and begins on the last scene of Falter book one.
I find Nevaeh to be very interesting, she has lots of strength of character even when she is struggling with her inter being she finds the will to do right over wrong and doesn’t falter from her goal.
Lots of history has been revealed, more understanding of the characters and hopefully where this story is leading, however just when we are getting somewhere cliffhanger. I for one will wait for Contrition book three and the answer is Nevaeh a savior of a destroyer.
Vanessa Vasquez is the narrator, I personally did not enjoy her performance as well as the narrator of the first book, but that is solely my opinion.

Neveah has had such turmoil in this story. She is in hell tortured by Bron. Archard searches for her, but is lost without a clue. George has been trapped in hell and Neveah plans to get him back, one way or another. Gayven has chosen the dark side saying the he did it for her, but who really knows. I didn't see some of this coming, but was surprised by the way the story shifted.

You will find yourself on the edge of your seat, wishing for a different outcome. But you will be so entranced by the characters, that you must continue.

The Battle of Good Vs. Evil Wages On

This is the second book in this series and it picks up very nicely where the first book ends. Things get a whole lot darker and deeper in this book and I found that I had to take a brief one day break while reading it as it was getting so heavy and I was so immersed in this story that I needed to back away. The writing is so good that you do find yourself completely immersed in this story and can't wait to find out what is going to happen to everybody and find out what Neveah decides. Once again this book has a bit of a cliffhanger (although not as bad as the first one) so you'll want to be sure to pick up the third book as you're nearing the end of the this one so you can jump right in. I'm not usually a paranormal reader/fan but Haven is such a fantastic writer that I really am enjoying this series and am fully vested in it and finding out what the conclusion is!
