That severely limits the placement of your USB devices. With the U-Link USB over cat5 extender you can use inexpensive cat5e or cat6 cable to extend your USB devices to distances up to 60 meters (around 200 feet), while still supporting full USB 2.0 high speed connections. That's even farther than many cat5 extenders, which only go up to around 150 feet.
