Very informative in all materials from basic necessities and detailed information on fabric types, styles, and texture. Includes 2 lining sections including purpose, material requirements, & attachment. as well as numerous to additional examples and relatively well explained step-by-step (if you have a general idea of hems, sleeve patterns etc. ) sewing techniques associated with well renowned fashion designers of the world!
This book will not teach you how to draft the patterns in emphasis, this is a sewing not pattern making for fashion design. I would recommend this book to someone who doesn’t mind spending their money on different versions of books with valuable information, however if you are looking to create an actual pattern and begin constructing ready to wear, I would not purchase as this is geared towards explanations of various materials Ex: boning for corset, in depth descriptions of fabrics, suggestions for good practices and runway techniques by designers; Valentino, Fendi, Ozwald Boeteng etc. and general information on sloper.
Awesome for my collection. Hoping to find a design pattern making book soon to complete it!

Excellent book especially for new dressmakers as well as though wanting to apply more tailored techniques. Would be a great gift for someone who really wants to learn better methods for finishing clothes so they don't look amateur.
