Helen Gurley Brown (b. 1922) is a bestselling writer and editor considered one of the most influential figures of Second Wave feminism. All of the details and the opinions about them where described by Helen Gurley Brown. It was a very controversial book. Helen Gurley Brown had profound influence on American Women and American Men, if they would admit it. This Seller provided a very good copy in good condition. It was inexpensive and clean. It was shipped very quickly. I do recommend this Seller.

I bought this book recently just because it is the book I that changed my life. I read it originally when it was first published. I was a recent high school graduate in a steel town culture in Western Pennsylvania. I read it and my whole approach to life changed. I went to collage (first one in my family), became successful in the technology world (only one in my family), ended up in New York city (well I regard this as a benefit). None of these things (as well as all the side effects that came with them) would have happened if I had not read this book. I don't know if it would have that impact on today's teenagers, but I bought it again in 2014 on the occasion of my retirement to see what it could have said to trigger all these events.

My first encounter with this work was a long time ago...when it was first published and I was just moving into young adulthood, recently married and unclear about what was ahead. From the advantage of hindsight, I see how good much of her advice is: have a network of friends of both (now all) genders, remembering that friendship does not necessarily involve "sex"; get yourself prepared for independent economic success, so you have a real choice about partnerships; take care of yourself so you can provide responsible care for others. I found her advice frightening on first reading; now it confirms the realities of my life as it actually evolved.
