Was looking for a light romantic comedy and saw this book in the new releases. Definitely gives you the male perspective, but not in a way that's disrespectful to women. And it will have you laughing. I snuck in some reading at work and at one point burst into hysterical laughter and my officemate gave me this look like i'd lost my mind. I had just read the scene where Heeb tries modeling for a painting class. It's one of the funniest things I've read in a really long time. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this book -- to men and women, single and married. It's just a really entertaining read.

"Every human relationship begins with a coincidence."

"By contrast, friends and lovers choose each other, but even these choices are reactions to what ever random coincidence made the resulting relationship possible."

-Zack Love

I kind of want to extend my middle finger at Mr. Love after reading this, all the while donning a devious smirk. As a fellow writer I find myself subconsciously critical of others work. What this book did for me was the reason I started telling stories in the first place and reminded me of the grand influence and power of the written word.

Picking this up reminded me of sitting on a plane and discovering you quite possibly met the most intriguing person you will ever encounter, and for those brief hours suspended in time, all of the universe is up for discussion without the usual formalities of social standing.

The characters, even in their most shallow moments, are full of soul with the inner distress one feels when they are falling short of living life to the fullest potential and finding that "perfect" mate. Together they commiserate on the unfortunate encounters they experience while scheming ridiculous plans to improve it. Woven together with sharp humor and identifiable characters, Sex in the Title is a virtual tour through Urie Brofenbrenners "Ecological Systems Theory". It cannot be easily summed up, as it spans several genres and does it with such cleverness, you cannot help but be impressed. What it boils down to is an incredible read. Everyone gets something different out of each story, for me, I felt so many emotions I find it difficult to convey and this review most likely comes across as superfluous ramblings.

I can honestly say that this has been one of my all-time favorite reads.

This is a rather funny book that has so far been very well received since its release. It is worth this praise and success in large measure because it is a witty, well thought out, splendidly executed satire on growing up at the time when I grew up. It is certainly funny in of itself, but now it also has that sort of ‘retro’ feel to it, that half emotional ambience about how things were so much better / downright archaic back at the turn of the century (depending upon whether you grew up then or after).

The book does cover the evergreen issue of coming to terms with life and finding a niche within it that fits somewhere between the ambitions we set ourselves as youngsters and the realities of the daily grind. There are very few people who have it easy all of the time and that extends into all aspects of life. Contrary to the title’s clever marketing, this is not all about sex, but in the way that American Pie was not all about sex, because you can clearly argue that it is, even though the bonding of friends who hold firm intially opposing and then embracing the inevitable pressures of growing up is very important to the story.

It is a very important positive that the author does not stray away from the comic into the embarrassing which is all too easy pitfall. It was to me a tale of coincidence and growing up, a story about how to deal with life when all life is sending is hard knocks; it is also a little bit of a heart warmer because it does help us recall that, more often than not, it does work out, even though nothing like originallt intentioned.

As a guy reading this, i could totally relate to some of the
situations and dilemmas. sometimes i felt like i was going out with
some of these men. reminds you of how much fun NYC can be, with all of
its ups and downs.

Initially, I was expecting a bit more Tucker Max-type stuff. there are
definitely some moments that remind you of that "fratire" genre. but
once i accepted that this was a different kind of book, I really got
into it. The story with its crazy situations and really funny dialogue
had me laughing out loud many times...i hope there's a sequel or a TV
series some day...

Zack Love has taken us into the mind boggling world of the male brain. It sure is a strange place. Meet 5 men who show you that in a city of over 8 million people, it is not easy to find the woman of a man's dreams. Of course, extreme checklists, dating timelines, unrealistic crushes on movie stars, misconceptions about what really happens behind parents' locked doors, and self realizations can make it pretty hard. This book is full of comedic escapades and has you almost feeling sorry for these 5 men, ALMOST. Men would not appreciate all the humor we women get out of some of the experiences, Lessons learned from prostitutes, hitting the Jackpot is not always a good thing, and sometimes if a woman is too perfect to be true, then she isn't true. So, take a read into this wonderful world Zack created help support his need to purchase bananas. This book deserves a sequel.
