THANK YOU daniel reimold for covering the history of the college sex column, a realm of writing i really think should have more to its discourse. i was the sex on tuesday writing at the daily cal for spring 2015 and THIS book finally told me the complete story of where the idea for the column came from and the historical context and social attitudes that produced it. the age of the undergrad crossed with media rhetoric produces a really unique set of concerns about sex. writing SoT had me frantic week to week because i was constantly grappling with why the most vocal population of my readers were so protective of THEIR standard for sex discussion conducts and why it was so hard to open up to my version of it. this book opened up what felt like a lineage of shakingly brave sex writing ancestors and has all the key research to place today's college sex column with its fraught social media relationship in a landscape of student academic culture. it's fantastic. very telling. and cal students, it's up on oski cat for your free perusal so get on that knowledge.
