The video content was great!
The show is set in Sweden (or it seemed) it was nice to see life in that part of the world.

Didn’t care for the leading male character, he was not likable, whinny, always complaining and never tried to connect with the beautiful country he moved to for his pretty partner.

I can see why the show did not continue, because he was not likable at all. But had he left the show and it continued, I would watch it again

Season Three Please

Found Welcome to Sweden by accident while looking for something else. Tried the first episode of the first season, and fell in love. The second season is just as quirky and enjoyable. It's well written and paced, and has funny but believable story lines. I was searching to buy season three when alas, it was a huge disappointment to discover it was not renewed. I guess there are too many people not willing to read any subtitles, but really, there weren't too many, and they were done well. There was no difficulty in following, and most importantly, enjoying, the show. I can only hope that it will be picked up, or streamed online. It really is one of the top ten shows I've seen in the last five years.

Glad We Are Still Welcomed to Sweden

One of the most delightful departures from the formulaic sitcom grind you could ever hope for, "Welcome to Sweden" takes us to new heights of humor. We meet this brilliant cast of characters deliciously flawed and altogether charming.
After hearing the network had cancelled, I wondered: are we too stupid for subtitles?
Apparently yes.
So glad to see the remaining episodes of Season 2 on Amazon.
Would somebody with a brain pick up this show, please?

I'm not reviewing the series (you can see TV critics' reviews online for that), but the DVD. Season One's DVD had no extras at all, which was pretty disappointing. Season Two has a short 4' 10" featurette and that's it. It's really too bad because in the course of promoting any series, material is generated for network upfronts, previews, interviews for the web, blooper reels, etc. Little of that made it to this DVD. Decision-makers seem to think that if a series doesn't make it past S2, no one will be interested in DVD extras for it. Wrong! Subtitle choices are limited: only English for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. No commentary tracks. 4 stars for the series, 2.5 stars for the transition to DVD.

Gone way too soon

I like this show so much I got Amazon's season pass both seasons. So bummed to hear it has been cancelled. True, it was an oddball comedy and I feel like it wasn't given a chance to get its legs under it, or respect shown to the audience who stuck with it from the beginning. It seems every show that I connect with, from Hannibal to welcome to Sweden or back as far a FNL gets cut. Be honest NBC, is it me?

dated a foreigner- you'll especially enjoy this series

Absolutely wonderful- so disappointing to hear it was cancelled. If you've ever lived abroad, dated a foreigner- you'll especially enjoy this series. I may not have married a Swede but I moved to another country for my foreign husband and this show speaks so much to my heart that I laugh and cry each episode. A great series that doesn't take itself too seriously and brings you good-hearted humor in each 20-minute episode.

Good for laughs and insights

One of the most interesting things about this series is learning about the Swedish culture. It's also fascinating to follow the family's conversations through subtitles. The only reason I give this a 4 is because the plot quality is rather uneven. The last 6 episodes of season 2 were never aired. Hopefully, they will be offered at some future date!

I love this show

I love this show! I'm so so sad it was cancelled. Maybe because I'd studied abroad in Italy, but I really enjoy shows that remind me of that time, having to navigate a totally different culture and language. I found it funny and interesting, and it has me wanting to learn Swedish and take a trip there as well! Aaaand maybe start watching this from season 1 again...
