As at the time of publishing this book, I have written over 140 articles and commentaries on various kinds of people who cut across different professions and integrated callings – academics, medicine, financial market, marketing communications, entrepreneurs, the clergy, royal fathers, artisans, peasants, world stars, culture and tradition custodians etc. Those people I have written about were unique in their own way and in the circumstances surrounding them. Majority of them, I had direct contact with and we related together as depicted in some of the pictures in the applicable chapters. In a way, those pictorial essays where I appeared tell part of my story too. The rest of the personalities I wrote on, I admired them from afar because I got to know them by their reputation. The institutions I wrote about are essentially my alma mater and an Ekiti indigenous intellectual roundtable that I was inspired to convene on the 6th of March in 2005. I am a passionate Ekiti man, naturally, I told the story of my state briefly, in the book in order to put some facts of history concerning my Jerusalem in proper perspective.
In all, I have put all the abridged biographies of individuals, profile of institutions and my other commentaries on different personalities in the past over three decades in 100 chapters as one compact book. Primarily, it is to track and preserve all my inspired writings for ease of reference and for the benefit of those who may find them interesting to read and for posterity sake, in one-stop book.
I must appreciate those who gave feedback on my published articles and various books which to a reasonable extent encouraged me to write more. I am always happy when I put my thoughts down. It is my hope that you will find this addition to the stable of my published books interesting to read too.
There is no attempt to paint anyone as perfect in this book because no mortal fits that status. What I have done in celebrating the chosen ones here is to tell an integral part of their story briefly, with emphasis on their very beautiful sides that are already in the public domain and essentially from my humble perspective.
Nevertheless, there will be something to learn from the life experiences of others by the readers so inclined, which this uncommon book offers. The reality is that most of them whom I have written about in this book are neither not likely to write autobiographies nor have formal biographical books written on them. This special publication will be in the public domain forever on Amazon and various libraries for ease of reference. Therefore, with over 140 abridged biographies in one hundred chapters, it is like having 100 books in one book.
Some instructive, motivational and profound quotes were inserted at the end of some chapters purposely for the page planning of this book, at the same time to inspire readers. Likewise, some vintage photos that speak to each subject matter are in this book. I wish everyone who gets a copy of this pictorial book a refreshing reading.
The book, “Applied Knowledge and Lateral Thinking”, contains collections some of writings after a thorough research on the various subjects. The contents can be applied in various situations and contexts. Based on the sources of materials for this 17-chapter book, the contents are grouped into three sections. The first 10 chapters covers packaging of a business plan, business management tips with many case studies, entrepreneurship, leadership issues etc. In essence the first section is a “mixed grill” of topics. The contents are essentially notes of the author on a wide range of books on the subject matter.
Chapter 11 constitutes section two of the book. It is essentially the course contents developed by the author for the officials of a state government in 2011 on creative thinking and problem solving. The author was one of the resource persons., the chapter contains his paper and notes on other topics covered during the training seminar.
The last six chapters are the write-ups of the author on various subjects – Nigerian economy, politics, socio-economic issues, community development etc that were either published in journals, tabloids or presented at conferences. It is another “salad” section where various subjects were addressed. The contents touched on timeless issues that are relevant till today. For an example, one of the chapters titled “Economic History of Nigeria: The Imperatives of Good Leadership and Effective Planning” was a well-researched essay at the instance of a retired multinational company executive who later served as a federal minister when he was to deliver a lecture to the corporate Nigeria.
This is yet another one-stop pictorial book in which readers can get to explore wide range of subjects and relevant topics. Some photos recorded during intellectual outings of the author at seminars were included. Business managers, entrepreneurs and other people occupying position of leadership would find the book as a s good addition to their library; while students of economics, finance and management would definitely find the book useful too.
This book to reasonable extent is a response to the need to bridge the yawning gap between the way the older generation was brought into Christianity and the way the new generation understands what Christianity is all about. A sect of the new generation is not very clear about Christianity, especially what the core gospel of Christ is all about and how believers are expected to live a fruitful Christian life and be happy, comfortable and contented.
The handbook for believers in Christian faith epitomizes a unique learning experience, shaped in six sections, with annexes and index. A part of the book is historical with few vintage pictures of the early missionaries. It touches history of Christianity, the early church, one Catholic and Apostolic Church, Anglican Communion and Church of Nigeria. The “Articles of Religion” in its original form constitute the second chapter in the first section of this book. It should guide those who are yet to become Christians to know how to go about it while it should refresh the believers to become better Christians. The second section is about Anglican Communion, its doctrines and practices in the Church of Nigeria (CON). A chapter is dedicated to Catechism while there are highlights on the structure of the church with relation to the various departments that complement the work of the vicar. The third section contains some of the studies of the author in the Bible College, while the fourth section is devotional. It is dedicated to holy communion, its efficacy and the principle of acquiring spirit filled power through being a communicant. The fifth section is devotional too, it contains few sermon notes as a Lay Reader and published articles of the author on the essence of Christianity. The last section is a collection of integrated spiritual commentaries quoted from various published sources. It contains some selected words of God, applied bible passages that can be deployed for functional prayer points tips that could help in living a spirit filled Christian life. The annex of the book contains definitions of some biblical and theological words that could enhance further understanding of Christian religion and a directory on CON. The culture, tradition and practices in the Church of Nigeria - Anglican Communion were recorded in pictures and published in this book.
The author (Lay Reader), his display of interest and knowledge of the foundation of the Christian faith vis-a-vis the historic formulary of the Church is commendable. The book which appears esoteric at first, should serve as a treasured companion to Christians and to all who may seek to understand the believers in the faith that they profess and practice. It is an uncommon Christian literature because it does not only have spiritual underpinnings, it tells the story of how Christianity spread to Nigeria through the West African coast. This makes the book to be historical, instructional and a devotional companion for Christians.
Those contemplating response to call to the ordained ministry will gain a taste of what lies ahead. Those in ministry who have no opportunity for a formal program will surely deepen their biblical, ecclesiastical, doctrinal, and theological knowledge. For laypersons who assist ordained ministers, they will derive joy in serving the Lord when they go through this book.
In all, this book should encourage the readers to relate with their Holy Bible more.

Ekitipanupo has given an account of itself in the past 15 years as a purpose driven productive intellectual forum. The tiny historical and epoch seed “conceived” over 15 years ago was planted in 2005 and like a muster seed it has grown to become an institution beyond the imagination of the brain and thinking behind the initiative.
The book is a testimonial for every active member of the forum because it showcases the best moments in the august forum. It is a good book to read by all. As a matter of fact, progressive minds in Nigerian federation and all over the world who are desirable of constituting an indigenous intellectual roundtable, this book is recommended for them. Ekitipanupo initiative model can be explored and adopted as deemed appropriate to suit their respective settings.
The author reviewed the maiden edition and added some additional photos of events that happened between 2015 and 2020 to make it available in Amazon. Therefore, this revised edition is richer in content to mark 15th anniversary of birthing the preeminent Ekiti intellectual forum.
