Product Description

Seymour Duncan's APH-1 Alnico II Pro has found its way into the axes of guitarists such as Slash (Guns 'N Roses and Velvet Revolver) to Queensryche's Michael Wilton. Perfect for any genre from jazz to blues to classic rock and anything in between, the APH-1 is characterized by a warm sound and moderate out. The APH-1 is equipped with four-conductor cable to facilitate a bunch of pickup switching configurations. For tones that can be classic and modern at the same time, the APH-1 fits the bill!

Installed with a JB Trembucker in the bridge. This is an amazing and sweet sounding pickup. Lots of harmonic content and a very open and airy midrange presence. I bought it for a "Superstrat" style guitar but I can tell this is more suited for a Les Paul style. It sounds amazing regardless; both clean and overdriven, but especially overdriven, I think. Even better, the alnico 2 magnet has less pull on the strings, which contributes to the tone quite nicely.

I put this pickup in my Ibanez RG270. The Alnico Pro II neck pickup is nicely balanced, and has the perfect low end depth, and a rich midrange tone to it. I've had it in my guitar for 14 years now, and I haven't had any problems. Chances are, I'll be installing this pickup in any future (humbucker equipped) guitars that I buy.

I do recommend this dimarzio pick up. I've installed the Alnico II in my ibanez S670 FM and the sound now is great, clean and strong with a lot of sustain. In the bridge position I have the SH-8... So one of them is clean and the other one is really heavy and dirty, a good combination.
