It's perhaps one of the most influential games of all time, back as a remake from the original ps2 release. Unlike the PS3 remaster, this version was virtually done completely from the ground up.
The game is excellent. If you've played it before, there won't be anything new technically speaking in terms of gameplay, but Bluepoint games has brought this gem back to life for the current gen (and then some). The graphics and audio are some of the best I've seen. New and original control schemes are offered.
This special edition in particular is fantastic as well. Love the box, additional items, and steelbook. Very cool for collecting. Additionally comes with some cool DLC items that don't change much in terms of gameplay (though do add minor alterations such as health regen) but do add some nice little aesthetic differences.
Additionally, Bluepoint has went above and beyond to add in tons of filter and audio options which are just really cool in my opinion and add to the overall value.
If you've played Shadow, you already know of it's brilliance: the gameplay loop, wandering the forbidden lands, and atmosphere are all some of the most unique and best in all of gaming.
If you haven't, I would completely recommend it with only minor caveats related to a minor difficulty curve when it comes to some character/combat control and the fact that the entire game is essentially just you, your horse, a disembodied voice, and the 16 Colossus that you are tasked to defeat. I would recommend to anyone new to this game to simply pick up the standard edition. But for collectors or long time fans of the series, this special edition is well worth it!

There's a new easy mode, new trophies, and things to collect throughout the world. The physical map is smaller than I thought it would be. Great game.

Best game ever

Growing up, I'd tell so many people of this game and none of them had even heard of it. Great puzzle solving, epic music, epic boss fights. When I was playing, I wished that I could explore this world in real life (without having to really fight colossi). I have loved this game since I was in high school. I always thought it was gorgeous and just an utter joy to play over and over again. Now, it's stunningly beautiful and just as fun. The controls have been updated, the voice acting is superb, I cannot say enough good about this remaster or the original game. So happy that my favorite game of all time has been treated so well. This remake was well deserved and I'm extremely pleased.

I think the extra $10 for the additional content is fine, but leaves me desiring something more substantial like perhaps including the remastered soundtrack. The other things included are nice but feel like they should have added something else.
Since this is the first time I play and own the game I wanted the whole thing and Im happy.
Great package. Could have been even better.
