Meeting Shadow in the first book of the series, Blaze, I knew he had to have a book. He had a hidden story. He didn't talk much. He didn't smile. He had a sorry childhood leaving him plagued with nightmares. The club and his brothers became his family and he'd do anything to protect them. Nothing distracted him--until Alex.
Alex has her own past. She ran. Found a home with the older owner of a bookstore. Eight years later her invitation to come in out of the rain and she was bequeathed the store and apartment. It was a real loss for her heart. Then a big burly biker started coming in for the free coffee and to sit and read for thirty minutes, buying nothing and leaving money on the counter. He was gorgeous. Never said a word but his stares said a lot. Was this hot guy really feeling the same heat she was feeling?
He was but didn't deserve a woman like Alex. When she invited him to dinner he meant to say no. Not what came out of his mouth. The dinner was their beginning. Deserving or not he wanted her and wasn't letting her go. As much as she wanted him she was afraid she'd have to leave him to keep her past behind her. Meanwhile, the club was having problems as well. It seems the war they just fought wasn't their only enemy. Once again they'd prove no one messed with Satan's Fury.
Both found peace as well as steam and excitement together. When her past enters will she let the club and his brothers protect her?
Learning the reason for Shadow's silence and nightmares made me want him to find his Alex and the solace she provides. A couple I needed to see make it. There is club excitement as well as steam and a tender side of man no one knew until Alex. The brothers are loyal, strong, and badboys everyone. I'm ready to find out about Riggs and his sharp mind.
