Continues the tale begun by Another Rainy Night but little else

This 70-odd page novella continues the story begun by "Another Rainy Night." It is clear that Mr. Goodman is slowly putting together a novel about our protagonist doctor of vampirology's attempt to uncover a conspiracy to...do something that isn't quite clear yet. Even though this installment was nearly double the length of "Another Rainy Night" I found it to be inferior as I didn't find that it moved the narrative much, and the ending didn't make much sense to me. Still, I would continue with the series. Even a mediocre Shadowrun story is fun just because of the fascinating setting.

This is an okay book and if you like SR and the SR world it isn't to bad. However there seems to be more of these "book" that are more a short story then a book. It is longer then se of the others but the ending is fast and felt more like the ending of the first 1/2 of a regular book.
