"This ‘end of days’ scenario is a wild amalgam of Christianity, vampire lore, world myth, functional morality, street philosophy and hot sex. Three double page line drawings...perfectly illustrate Banks’s over the top supernatural characters and scenes."--Publishers Weekly on The Cursed
"A splendid tale that brings together action suspense, mystery, mind-blowing battle scenes and love scenes."--Urban Reviews on The Cursed
“Superior vampire fiction.”---Booklist on The Forbidden
From the Back Cover
THERE’S NOWHERE LEFT TO HIDE…
The Dark Realms are taking cover after an angel onslaught from On High. The Anti-Christ has been injured and the fourth Biblical seal has been broken. Yonnie and Val, a strange combination of a daywalker and an angel hybrid, have joined Damali and Carlos’s team. And the two new Council Level vamps, Elizabeth Bathory and Lucrezia Borgia, are still in recovery from their last mission…
Seething in the underworld is the Unnamed One, so furious that he’s bringing the battle topside, unleashing a full-frontal assault on mankind for the offenses committed by the Vampire Huntress team. Now Damali and Carlos must address serious human casualties and collateral damage—all while the vampire councilman, Nuit, rebuilds Blood Music to become more than a record label, but a media brainwashing empire for the dark lord…

I do like the fact that other Guardians teams and characters were introduced and I also like how Carlos kicked Dracula's butt! I also like how the light tricked the Unnamed in to thinking the team pregancies were frauds.
This book was well written and may be mama banks wanted us to focus on some thing other than the hot sex. She may be setting us up for the big finish. With this being said, I can't wait until book 13. There are so many questions and new births to take place...
There's a little more at stake this time: the team itself is expanding and about to produce new fruit, while a beloved member of the Guardian team is lost.
He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named is hard at work creating chaos with Lilith and the rest of the Vampire Council. The action scenes are off the chain, as usual. What else can you expect with the Armageddon at hand? More seals are broken and all hell is breaking loose--literally.
I'm being deliberately vague. Nothing I say here even compares to the breath-holding, page-turning drama that unfolds in this book. Mama Banks outdoes herself yet again in this prequel to the last book in the series. I'll be sorry to see it end, but know that there's more in store for this fantastic author and ALL of her work.
Heavy losses will mount on both sides but who will come out with the upper hand as Armageddon approaches.
This book is a must read and great addition to any VHL series fan collection.
Also a great read for the casual reader. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
My one complaint, other than the fact this is a setup book for Book 12, is she has a little too much of the back and forth "meanwhile, in hell... meanwhile, with the crew..."; enough to make one a little dizzy.
All in all, a good book in the series, but not one that can truthfully stand by itself. Left me wanting for a LOT more - hopefully, Book 12 won't be delayed too much by the new werewolf series.
