The majority of the stories were sexually charged in one way or another. This may not appeal to all readers, while others will flock to the idea and beg for more. I'm somewhat in the middle, although, to be honest, it maybe was a bit too much for my particular tastes. The characters, both male and female, seemed a little too much alike story to story. However, when Thomas broke out of this shell, he proved he has has what it takes to do more. I hope to see more of this in his future stories.
I've witnessed Thomas grow and improve as a writer for a good many years and if the newer tales in "Shadows In The Witching Glass" are any indication of how far he's come, I'm looking forward even more to an upcoming novel I know he's working on.
I needed short stories to read . . . fantastic and horrifying short stories to distract me from the crazy stuff going on in the world, and I found this collection. I am so happy that I did.
Thomas Gunther has a unique, detailed, and brutal style, and there is beauty to his writing—writing that gives vivid details about complex protagonists and introduces them to situations that you would never expect.
A couple of my favorite stories in the collection are Fall Into Madness and Ralph and the Space Saver 3,000, but they’re all good. I’ll let you find your own favorites!
A couple of these stories I'd read in indie anthologies, but a large majority of them were new to me, and what a treat. A few of my favorites were "True Love," "The Witching Glass," "Trinity," and "Ralph and the Spacesaver 3000."
Some of the stories are dark in tone, and others are more strange with a Twilight Zone feel to them. If you're a lover of the odd or the dark, these stories are for you.
