My 7 year old daughter loves this book. It has beautiful rhyme and meter as it is actual snippets from Shakespeare plays and sonnets. The illustrations are gorgeous. My five year old son will make it through about half of the book and then he loses interest. As a father, this book never gets old for me to read to my kids.

The art work for these brilliant excerpts from the Bard's work are perfect. Ms. Weiner, you are to be congratulated for choosing the perfect seasonal lines, and Ms. Whitt, the cut-and-paste work is beyond excellent. Every public library and school library needs this book.

This is a beautiful children's book. The illustrations look like a paper mosaic and each is unique, portraying different seasons and weather. My favorite thing about this books is the wide range of Shakespearean texts from which the quotes are pulled. Rather than try to re-write a Shakespeare play for kids as so many other books try to do, this book uses a few lines on each page from Shakespeare's plays and sonnets. It is such a great way to introduce children to his works and words!

A beautiful introduction to Shakespeare for children. I bought a copy for my three-year old daughter, and we both enjoy reading it. She learns about the seasons (we live in Miami, so she needs a book to teach seasonal weather), while listening to some of Shakespeare's classic rhymes and some less well-known ones as well. The illustrations are colorful, detailed and inspired. I strongly recommend this book.

My kids love this book. The artwork is wonderful and the selection of Shakespeare's text is just perfect. What I love most is that there is no "dumbing down" of Shakespeare. The text is not chosen for its simplicity, but rather for its poetry....and guess what? Kids love it - even if they don't understand it all the first time.

My four-year-old loves the way the sentences sound and my seven-year-old loves trying to figure it all out....and they both stick around for the artwork.

Great book.

If you're looking for a refreshing addition to your child's library then this is the book for you. I was so tired of reading books that seem to pander to children. I came upon this book while searching for something new for bedtime and have read it to my two kids (age 2 and 5) almost every night since we got it! The author and illustrator combined have a way of making Shakespeare come to life for young children. I'm so happy to expose them early to this type of writing style. Every time we read it they find something else they didn't see in the pictures and the poetry lends itself to many discussions. The true meaning of learning to read! Makes a great gift as well.
